If there was some possibility that Erd Tree did win, it would be a strike for Fromsoftware. People will just end up resenting them for winning again, like when Macklemore won best rap album over Kendrick.

There’s been better more deserving DLC and some that didn’t even need almost a complete playthrough of the base game to even start, like all of witchers or cyberpunks.
