Eve rapped with the most rugged and lyrical rappers (DMX, The Lox, etc), also could crossover and do pop records, and had introspective tracks. No female rapper outside of Lauryn is as versatile as Eve. And she wasn't an underground rapper, she had huge commercial records. And she wrote her own raps.

At this point, Lauryn Hill should be excluded from all discussions about female rappers.

She's literally done nothing in 25+ years to validate this status.....a couple verses back in the early 90's doesn't warrant this continued place she's somehow gotten.

Lauryn was the whole package as an artist because she was an amazing singer with a soulful voice. But she was a pretty basic rapper.
