We will become a democratically socialist society so stay mad.
Just saying it out loud, it’s like throwing holy water on a vampire for Republicans (and the folks on this board that claim to “hate Donald Trump, but....”). They are in a complete and total meltdown, and it’s the most beautiful thing to watch. lololololololol, sorry about your luck, fukkfaces, thoughts and prayers

The Trump era is basically the last hurrah of an extreme right wing movement in a first world country. Especially when the white population is rapidly decreasing.

In another 20 years, we gonna become what Bernie Sanders dreamed of: a Socialist Democratic country with great infrastructure and good healthcare benefits. With Basic Income

I know it's not popular opinion on here (or in many liberal circles) but the military funding isn't as egregious as you may want to think.

the fact that the US military is the worlds greatest shield against real fascism, communism, and BS is not something to take lightly.

I agree that there is a ton of wasteful spending, just as there is in EVERY government sector, and they should be focusing on cleaning up all that shyt. But to suggest defunding the military so drastic that many ppl think or say is probably not the best idea in this world climate.

now with that being said, ANY fight against Universal Health Care/Single payer HC, is just a load of shyt. It costs less and works way better. That should be implemented right away.

Furthermore, the only real focus that should be looked at right now in terms of any type of green deal is to use sustainable and/or green energy sources. (NUCLEAR for all), and reducing plastic and pollution.

all this other over BS'd talk about carbon taxes and shyt should be gone.

eliminate ALL plastic bottles and plastic bags. day one!

invest in better recycling technology (a lot glass, and plastic right now cannot even be recycled).

For example, current health care spending is $3.5 trillion a year. If Medicare for all is $3.2 trillion, that's a $300 billion savings. Thus you'd actually SAVE money off of current health care spending. In fact, with improved health/productivity, the savings would increase.

The article doesn't ignore that though, as it links to an article discussing the Mercatus center findings, which discusses the debates regarding the potential savings.

A jobs guarantee would lead to increased tax payments and increasing consumer spending, leading to even more taxes.

This is an interesting assumption, do you have any links to any proposals or studies showing a potential increase in tax revenue and/or increased consumer spending that would occur as a result of a jobs guarantee program?

Infrastructure changes to achieve carbon neutrality could be expensive. But every study shows that responding to climate change is more expensive than preventing it. So what's the game-plan if you're not going to do that, avoid paying a lot now but pay far more later?

Again the article doesn't ignore carbon neutrality, nor does it imply or state that we should avoid paying alot now.

The funniest thing is complaining about deficit spending. Wake me up when deficit spending on the military and rich people's tax breaks finally becomes a concern for the right and center.

This line of argument probably makes sense when presented towards those who have either, A) been indifferent towards deficit spending or B) showcased a willingness to engage in deficit spending when it aligns with their own politics and beliefs.

But it does not make much sense in relation to those who are either, A) been consistently critical of deficit spending or B) highly skeptical of the MMT adopted stance that has been taken up by sections of the left.
