Ja should not get MVP consideration but someone might throw him one or two votes

I think this race will be closer than people think. And whoever it is will be debatable.

off a quick glance:

DeRozen - 68 games
Jokic - 66 games
Curry - 64 games
Giannis - 60 games
Embiid- 59 games
Ja - 56 games

Am I missing anybody?

It’s either gonna be Jokic or Embiid..

Maybe Giannis but he’s a long shot

I agree about Giannis being a long shot this year.

A couple more guys who should be in the mix:

Tatum - 70 games
Booker - 62
Mitchell - 60

Jokic has a case due to his team being depleted. But these guys are all leading their teams to better records.

Tatum might be my dark horse pick depending on how the season finishes out.

MVP is a narrative award..

Tatum, Booker and Mitchell have zero chance of winning it..

The narrative is on Embiid and Joker this year

We will revisit this in a couple weeks.

Jokers record might exclude him.

Joel has played 3 more games than Ja who you say didn’t play enough games. And now he’s finishing out the season with another MVP caliber guy.

I don’t see why Booker isn’t in the mix leading that team to the best record in the league.

His teams record without him hurts his argument as 17 games is too much of a sample size to ignore. He’s definitely getting 1st team All NBA though and the supermax that comes along with it.
But they built the team around him. So it's because of him, the team is good enough to win without him.
