It hits different, at least for LWO, cause for all the years they were non factors we brushed them off. But as soon as they got CP3 they started acting brand new and got a fake ass fanbase out of nowhere who didn't know Keith Closs from a can of paint. This whole last decade they tried to front on us while they barely achieved anything. Then they got George Paul and Peg Leg and the media pundits led the way, declaring them champions in the fukkin preseason.

To go out the way they did after all that cappin is inexcusable. :hhh:

This right here.
Beta ass basketball fans. Corny ass people trying to do "the other thing"
It's like choosing Robin over Batman.
16 championships > 0 conference finals APPEARANCES.
They hid Laker championship banners with banners of Blake Griffin or Lemon Pepper Lou
Clippers match the Lakers with the number of Conference Championship banners hanging in the arena only because the Lakers don't hang theirs.
Clippers got wack ass disappointments in Lou Will, Trez, Loud ass Patrick Beverly. I ain't even gonna mention their "stars"
Alex Caruso out here with his own fan base.
Lebron out here playing D at 35
AD just balling. No gimmicks no frills. 28/10 night in night out.
Clippers won't come back hard next year CP3 ain't walking through that door. They got no dog in them. When the Lakers lost in '08 you knew it was on the next year. When Spurs blew it against the Heatles you knew they were gonna murder the league the next season.
Paul George ain't leading no charge. Kawhi just happy to be home. Clipper players and their fans need to be quiet and just enjoy being near the beach and the Lakers.

There was a moment in game 6. They just blew the lead and they were in a timeout and in the huddle and they just looked done. Tired. Doc was rambling on about some adjustment with his clipboard but you could see it on PG's face and Kawhi's face zoned out "somebody needs to step up and do something" :childplease:bunch of followers.:shaq2:

If I was in the business of negging people, I'd neg you for this trash take.
Lakers. Yankees. Cowboys.
Those 3 aren't coming down from their perch until we get nuked back to the stone age. Doesn't matter if they never win another game, their support is world wide. They aren't even sports franchises, they're global icons.
You're in a thread talking about why the clippers are hated on, and you bring the Lakers and their title run chances up as many times as the Clippers!
Lol, this shyt isn't even about the Lakers, and you're tripping over yourself to talk about the Lakers.
Put it this way: no one is ever going to talk about the Clippers without talking about the Lakers, but no one is ever going to break off a talk about the Lakers to talk about the Clippers.
Move them back to Buffalo where they can choke annually and be seen as lovable losers, like the Bills.
They're not and havent ever been ready for prime time.
Lol.
"it feels like the city will be up for grabs this decade" oh yeah?
really?
:camby:

Cowboys ? :dahell:

:mjlol:

You sound scorned breh. Just saying my point

Can’t be insecure when they ain’t even pass the second round. Think about it...we have em 10 years to even win 1 and they couldn’t even make it to the conference finals....

But we scared?

Clippers ran an anti-Lakers campaign all year

Blazers fans don’t like him because PG and Beverly

Raptors fans want them to lose because Kawhi left

Spurs fans hate Kawhi

Pacers/OKC fans don’t like PG

A lot of players roasted them too because Clippers were moving like they were champions

Just like Jordan, Lebron is the protagonist of the NBA doggie. He is still considered the best. Im not going into the stan wars with you, but youd be a fool not to see that he drives nearly every major narrative in the NBA. 3 years removed from a chip even.

Durants warriors run did not elevate him like that ,stop it.:beli: Otherwise, why did he leave? Mans did his scoring thing but he was a nuclear option on a team full of nukes.
So dethronement from media affection and fan fare.
And I’m not even a fan of KD bro, so please don’t think I’m coming at it from a stan angle :pachaha:

Just don’t understand the motivation behind this alleged conspiracy, and whose leading it. Sound like you’re just a fan that felt threatened, for what reason I have no idea because like you stated Lebron still moves the needle and is the focal point of the league despite him not really dominating his era. Him winning or losing hasn’t really ever changed much. So you were paranoid for nothing...being a fanboy

Its not hatred, and I think you're conflating the shyt with "hatred". No one hates the Los Angeles Clippers, they have nothing in their entire history to espouse an emotion of hatred from anybody...

What youre doing is conveniently overlooking the fact that they were forced down the throats of basketball culture for the last 14 months or so, why are you deflecting from that? So what you're seeing is the response from a culture that understood why this narrative was so strong and pushed so hard...

Nobody hates them. A number of their players are unlikable. We gave them a pedestal they didn't earn, we shifted on the Lakers for them for years, turnabout is fair play, g....

LeBron is still the face of the NBA and has been that for what, 12-13 years? Its arguable that he is no longer the best player in basketball, but thats only arguable, KD has holes in his case whereas LeBron was undoubtedly the best player for a decade strong...

He's the most polarizing player in The League maybe ever, all these superstars, teams, achievements are compared to him, not the other way around. He aint Mike, he's LeBron, the best player since Mike by a massive margin and arguably the greatest player ever. The polarization with him continues to drive NBA storylines, one of the biggest being to say he isnt as great as he has proven to be...
Right, but none of that really answers the questions I posed in response to what that poster laid out. He stated something along the lines of the Clippers getting media adoration due to some conspiracy to dethrone Lebron.....and I’m asking from what? He isn’t defending any titles and he’s arguably not even the best player in the league so what would he be getting dethroned from? Y’all getting caught up in the minutia of dissecting whose better KD or Lebron putting fanboy blinders on, arguing that and missing the overall point. It doesn’t matter if KD is better or not, the point is, it’s a serious debate on either side. But overall, He’s 3-6 in the finals and is STILL by far, like you stated, the most polarizing athlete in the sport. So clearly him winning or losing doesn’t effect the fanfare and media affection that he receives......why the paranoia? It has to be totally subjective from a fans perspective, perceiving someone as a threat to his favorite player. So he’s concocting these conspiracy in his head. It can’t be anything more

Bruh thats kind of the point. It is pointless. Lebrons standing in the league cannot go down at this point. He will move the needle until he retires.

That still doesnt stop the media, Bron haters/Kobe/MJ stans, and fanbases from constructing the larger narrative of the NBA around him.

Every year its always some emergent team or emergent player who is supposed to be the one to finally unseat LeBron as the leagues focal point. The Bulls and Derrick Rose, the Pacers and PG, the Warriors, the Raptors, The Young Gun Celtics, Giannis and the Bucks....these players and teams have had some of their most defining moments relative to how they performed against Lebron..

He never gets unseated, even when they actually beat Lebron. Durant got his props for exactly one week then everyone went back to realizing he went to Stephs team to do it. Steph has no finals MVPs or transcendent playoff performance as a champion. Giannis cant get there. Kawhi is a mute with no charisma who lucks into good situations AND doesnt have leadership or skill to carry a team through the Reg. and Post Season. I can go on and on.

This is a lengthy response but didn't take long to come up with because the explanation is right on the surface, so im just breaking it down:

Nah bro it isn’t a fan creation. NBA media is run by people Jordan's age/Jordan's era who have a vested interest in protecting Jordan's legacy...

In the last 5-10 years people have joined NBA media who are in Kobe's age/era who have a vested interest in shoehorning him in a conversation above LeBron...

This has been evident since around the summer Bron won his first title (2012), and honestly probably before then but with the first ring you could no longer say he wasn't a champion; from articles written by a variety of writers in a variety of publications (SI, ESPN, Slam, Forbes, NBA.com, etc), a variety of publications produced on TV by these entities (most recently The Last Dance), the plethora of analysts who have been on these networks talking about All-Timw debates over the years, the legion of FORMER/RETIRED PLAYERS who add their opinions in from interviews, social media, and shows, etc...

After all of this, then you can say its trickled down to the fan opinions but the fans are the last step...

LeBron is the first guy, since Jordan, who threatened Mike's legacy and everybody felt it, and in a league where Mike's supremacy was unquestioned this made alot of people uncomfortable. Undertand I'm not talking about the minutia of whether LeBron is better than Jordan or not, once it became clear that its a legitimate argument there began this massive formation of pieces and people to pick apart why he isn't, and its all in the interest of protecting Jordan...

The real problem is unlike other sports, NBA Media and Basketball Culture by extension, backed itself into a corner the last 25-30 years by propagandizing one person, Mike, as the greatest there ever was and ever will be, qnd the assertion is so absurd on its face its amazing it took so long to blow up but muhfukkas ran with it anyway...

Dethroning LeBron is about continually looking for measures to invalidate his candidacy as the greatest player of all time, it isnt really about today's players. He's significantly older and more accomplished than all of the modern stars, so those guys are only in the mix because they are active players and it makes for good conversation to find angles to say someone is better rhan LeBron. His Finals record is brought up qd nauseum because of this vecause at no point did anyone mention Finals records before LeBron, with any type of regularity, because getting to The Finals was NEVER seen as a negative, all that matteres was how much you won---->Wilt was 2-4 and yet here we are almost 50 years after his retirement and most people still have him in their Top 5, so if losing in The Finals twice as much as winning actually mattered the overall perception and placement of Wilt would be different...

The 3-6 takes only matter to the purpose it can be used to poke holes at LeBron...

Its really a Michael Jordan thing because basketball deified Mike as a messiah who was greater than anything to ever come before him, and anything that could possibly come after him...

With all due respect, y’all are just sounding like fans man and I really don’t have the energy for that. You aren’t saying anything because you’re trying to prove abstracts and subjectivities.
Y’all are looking at anything that’s not adoration for Lebron and that’s bigging up other assets in the league (which is what a business is supposed to do) as a slight Or some conspiracy. And that’s just silliness and , to be frank, fanboyism.

Y’all can have that.
