The House has passed the "Save Act" which will make it more difficult for people to vote. Republicans have no damn shame

Not everyone has $130 to spend on a damn I’d. especially our elderly, poor or poorly educated (including whites). They keep moving the goal posts. Next your credit score better be above 750.
I'm not saying it's right at all but pointing out they been trying this since 2012. They don't even want to make it in a weekend or make a holiday of it. It's an inconvenience from the start

why would you need a passport to vote?
for the record, the law is about registering to vote. not actually voting. that congressman is wrong or lying, not that i have an issue with that, in opposition to trump's bullshyt

it says to register to vote, you would need a passport, birth certificate, or real ID, which is just a normal renewed drivers license

it's still nonsense. when i moved states a few years ago, i just registered by mail, i didn't prove anything with an ID

Ah. That’s not as bad, but still a hassle for some folks I’m sure.

You’re main focus is take care of your own community for at least the next 8 years, making sure u vote for every left wing politician in your city , state and neighborhood councilmen and women ( who not taking bribes) to make sure u can capture any benefits or services u can because on a large scale we’re done

He's lying to you. Don't fall for his manipulations. He voted for Trump and supports the GOP. The Senator quoted in the OP is spot on. The SAVE Act is an intentional barrier to voting. Requiring a passport, a birth certificate, or military service papers to register is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise millions of people. It is true that more than half of Americans don't have passports, and a lot of married women don't have updated birth certificates to reflect their legal name changes. It's not "normal" or "reasonable" to expect people to jump through these hoops.

This will disproportionately target marginalized communities, especially Black voters, and low-income individuals. This is nothing but voter suppression dressed up as "election integrity," and claiming it's not that bad is just an attempt to downplay the reality of it all. The Senator is right to compare this to Jim Crow too, because it's a clear reflection of what this bill is really about. It is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, because non-citizen voting in federal elections is a myth, and these restrictions are just another way to suppress votes.

Do you know people without an official birth certificate? What's stopping them from getting one?

Money dummy. That's exactly the reason the constitutionality of mandates like this get challenged. It becomes a de facto poll tax.

How much money?

I did a google search for Texas and it's $22. Is that too much for people?
