Did Jews own slaves? I got a Jewish last name and would like to extort this excellence for my own benefit somehow 
read the book 'the invention of the jewish people' written by a Jew. its too much to explain. basically says that the Jews of the ancient times are not the jews of today. I'm sure Esau= Evil or Scolla (i forget his SO*H name) will come in here and explain it more eloquently than I can.

That book and it's author have also been scoffed at from both Jewish and non-Jewish scholars and historians around the world. His evidence for his stance was simply a lack of understanding the Ancient time periods, texts, and history. Simply put it is not a respected hypothesis and the facts he presents are proven to be historically innacurate. But carry on, continue to get your info from real life trolls and Mowgli aliases.
