Politely and not in a disrespectful manner, Jokic is a turnstile in the pick and roll and is not athletic enough to even be a decent rim protector. His foot speed is similar to prime Dirk, on both ends of the floor. And that’s my problem with the him, Harden, Luka, Nash, Dirk, and any other one way player being compared to guys who excel on both ends of the court.
The thing these players have in common is outsized historic regular season offensive numbers that dwarf their playoff success. The lack of postseason success is directly tied to their poor individual defense. Each of the players named above has to be surrounded by exceptional defensive players that can cover their weakness.
This is different from the Lebrons, the Mikes, the Kobes, the Duncans, who are great offensively but also great defensively which allows them to have success with a variety of supporting player skill types.
