Can't believe I just read someone would take Jokic over PRIME Shaq.

Astonishing.

Yall need to stop bumping this thread. If I’m advocating for a 7 footer to be considered top ten all time and he got locked up by a point guard I’d shut the fukk up :heh:
They won't let the Joker agenda go

Its hilarious

Dude is amazing but flawed and if he doesn't win more rings he will never be what they want him to be :yeshrug:

Is he worthy? Absolutely
Has he done it the right way? Yes

I’m not putting a guy with one championship in my top 10 no matter how deserving he is. Jerry West is no longer in it so and that tells you everything you need to know. Jokic had his opportunity to vault already but they flamed out against The Wolves in 24

If he doesn’t win another however he’s somewhere between 12-20 and only makes cracking top 20 for someone with comparable numbers that much harder

Is Jokic the greatest basketball player ever? No. Accolades and rings are a thing.

Is Jokic the best player to ever touch a basketball?
Yes. His single year and 5 year peak is undeniable.

He’s not in the same boat as Steve Nash lol

People will just say anything. :mjlol: .

That's a lazy comparison.
Politely and not in a disrespectful manner, Jokic is a turnstile in the pick and roll and is not athletic enough to even be a decent rim protector. His foot speed is similar to prime Dirk, on both ends of the floor. And that’s my problem with the him, Harden, Luka, Nash, Dirk, and any other one way player being compared to guys who excel on both ends of the court.

The thing these players have in common is outsized historic regular season offensive numbers that dwarf their playoff success. The lack of postseason success is directly tied to their poor individual defense. Each of the players named above has to be surrounded by exceptional defensive players that can cover their weakness.

This is different from the Lebrons, the Mikes, the Kobes, the Duncans, who are great offensively but also great defensively which allows them to have success with a variety of supporting player skill types.
