The problem is the Knicks are soft and have no leadership.

Carmelo is a great player. He is not a leader.
Derek Fisher is probably too inexperienced to lead this team, also.

The Knicks' identity when they were good has always been hard-nosed defense.
These Knicks teams have no defense. They have no players who defend with energy and pride themselves on punishing teams who play in the paint.

Their game is predicated on making 3-pointers and it only works when they're hot. But that's too flakey a strategy.

Prigioni is old and never shoots.
JR Smith is streaky as hell and only cares about scoring.
Shumpert is talented but seems incapable of taking that next step in his game.
Good lord, Dalembert is straight out disgusting. I'll never understand how you can be that big and be that much of a bum. You know what? As annoying as Bill Walton was, he was 100% right. THROW IT DOWN, BIG MAN! I mean it really is that simple. Just turn around, dipsh*t!! Turn around and put the f*cking ball in the basket. I know people are reading this like "F*ck Dalembert"...but this is just annoying to me as far as big men overall in the league. Centers been soft in the NBA for going on 15 years, at least.

This all starts with Melo from the time he was first traded there. Instead of waiting and signing as a free agent his greed forced him to get traded and the Knicks gave up all of their young assets. Them with Galinari and Chandler would have at least made them a playoff team year in and year out in the East.
