the problem is the owner and lackadaisical and clueless front office, uncle phil came in and wanted to clean house of the dead wood and the owner went against him. hard to stan for the franchise.

If Knicks president Phil Jackson wants to clean house, James Dolan should comply
Understand: It is not just the team that needs to be changed, it is the culture at the Garden. No one as smart and as cool as Jackson can possibly think that the way they do business is possibly working.

SINY!!

That story basically sums it up. Imagine if Riley was given more front office power? The Knicks would have won at least a couple of rings the last 20 years. He would have established a culture, would have wooed any free agents he wanted etc.....

If you look at his resume as an executive, the only questionable move he made IMO was giving Antoine Walker that 6 year contract after trading for him and hell even he contributed to that title in 2006.

the knicks were decent in the 90's, but like all other teams not named the rockets, they ran into :mjpls: and that was the end of their chapter.

My friend broke it to me like this. "The Knicks in the 90s were the best NBA Team to never win a ring. They had the team and the talent, but three things always kept them from winning it all. Those three things being Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Reggie Miller."

Don't forget the spurs bro. That's why to this day I root against them

I think Derek Fisher is a good coach, better than Jason Kidd. The Knicks are so lost it's hard to watch. Their offense is too reliant on Carmelo and their defense is no where to be found. I'll give them this, most of their games this year have been competitive and came down to the wire. Idk I DO think they will go on a run later this season where they get it together and win a string of games, but they are not making the playoffs. At least this summer Amare and I think Barg comes off the books and they can finally go after free agents. Phil needs to get rid of everybody besides Melo obviously and maybe Tim Hardaway Jr and build a contender now that he has some money to work with. This franchise needs a rejuvenation, their fans have been dying for it since the late 90's and I think this offseason will be the start of that cause this season is a wash.

Side note: I absolutely abhor the Knicks, so these past seasons have been :blessed: for me lol.

Criticism of the Knicks drafting is actually a decent point.

To review:

2004: Trevor Ariza (2nd round)
2005: Channing Frye, David Lee, Dijon Thompson (2nd round)
2006: Renaldo Balkman, Mardy Collins
2007: Wilson Chandler
2008: Danilo Gallinari
2009: Jordan Hill
2010: Andy Rautins, Landry Fields (both 2nd round)
2011: Iman Shumpert
2012: Kostas Papanikolaou (2nd round)
2013: Tim Hardaway
2014: Cleanthony Early, Thanasis Antetokounmpo (both 2nd round)

Not exactly good drafting by New York.

Gallinari and Chandler have been solid players, but for Denver.
David Lee turned out pretty well, but for Golden State, mostly.
Channing Frye? Meh...

Nothing against Gallinari but you look back and think that taking a risk on a foreign player like Gallinari when Brook Lopez went 10th to the Nets...but I guess that's what you get when D'Antoni is your coach.

It's also worth noting that the Knicks drafted Nene Hilario way back in 2002, but promptly traded him to Denver (with a still productive Marcus Camby, and Mark Jackson) for Antonio McDyess ...which was a complete and total disaster. In fact, can the Knicks just never trade with Denver again? Because it clearly never works out for them.

The Knicks figure to fall in the top 10 of the 2015 NBA draft...and they're so stupid, they'll probably draft another shooting guard.
Or maybe Phil Jackson will fix things.

:yeshrug:
nyk are good drafters

Only bad pick they had was rautins

and maybe balkman, i actually think balkman was a decent pick

very good defender and could guard The LBJs,KBs,KDs, etc , nikka just couldnt shoot 4 shyt, and was always gettn into fights
