I guarantee you never played basketball besides in gym classi guarantee most of the kobe stans on this board weren't old enough to even understand basketball when that 3-peat team was running things.

Im saying you nikkas pull up final stats but the first two teams they faced in the finals, their best players were SGs, like Kobe. How different would the numbers look if the best player was a HOF big man and they just had some scrub SG. Oh wait,
2002, Lakers-Spurs 2nd round
Kobe: 26ppg,5rpg,5apg, 45 FG%
Shaq: 21ppg,12rpg,3apg, 44FG%
Duncan:27ppg, 17rpg,4apg
Duncan shytted on shaq that series and Kobe was clearly their best player. Stop acting like Shaq was superman and kobe was some bum.

Hes arguing they faced more talented teams in the wc playoffs than in the finals. which is trueArguing that there's a round more consequential than the finals? This is ban worthy. You've been reported.
I want game by game stats, not no video package of Kobe
I love how Shaq wasnt in his prime can be used as an excuse, as if kobe was in his prime in 2000 nikka was only like 21 years old lmaoShaq wasn't in his prime when he was with Penny and he also ran into The Dream.
And what people miss when they mention the Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel years is that they ran into more experienced teams. Shaq was with the Lakers for 3 seasons before they won in 2000. In 97 and 98 they lost to Utah, who ended going to the Finals. In 99 they lost to the Spurs, who won the title. It wasn't like they was getting bounced out by bottom-feeders. They lost to the team that eventually went to the Finals/won the championship.
People also forget that the Lakers added Glen Rice, Ron Harper, Brian Shaw, and John Salley that off-season. They also brung back A.C. Green...veterans who won championships and solid players who knew their role. Van Exel and Eddie Jones wanted to be stars. That's what got them over the hump...Not Kobe. Like I said, replace him with Vince Carter, T-Mac, AI, Pierce or Marbury and they still win.
Like I said, they don't make it out of the west in '02 without Kobe. Shaq was still the alpha in the gameplan.
Let's look at this another way. MVP voting:
2000 - Shaq wins MVP, Kobe is 12th in voting
2001 - Shaq is 3rd in voting, Kobe is 9th
2002 - Shaq is 3rd in voting, Kobe is 5th
So you can see that Kobe was creeping up on Shaq and about to surpass him when the 3peat ended. Incidentally, in '03 Kobe finished 3rd in MVP voting and Shaq was 5th, but they lost to the Spurs in the playoffs. In '04, Kobe was 5th and Shaq was 6th in MVP voting and they lost to the Pistons in the Finals.
So when Shaq was the alpha dog, they won championships. Once Kobe surpassed him, he couldn't lead a team with Shaq on it to a title.![]()
What was Shaq's for those same series are you retarded?KOBE VS SPURS 2001:
33.3 PPG 7 RPG 7 APG
KOBE VS KINGS 2001:
35 PPG 9 RPG 4.3 APG
KOBE VS BLAZERS 2001:
25 PPG 4.7 RPG 7.7 APG
SIDEKICK NUMBERS YALL!!!
