NO U DID THE FINALS BECAUSE IT WAS CONVENIENT TO YOUR ARGUMENT, PRETENDING LIKE LAKERS WERENT FACIN SCRUB TEAMS IN THE FINALS.. STOP LYIN. KOBE WORKED HARD TO WIN..SHAQ WORKED HARD TO LOOK GOOD. THATS WHY KOBE HAD BIG NUMBERS WHEN THEY WERE NEEDED AND SHAQ HAD BIG NUMBERS IN BLOWOUTS. HE LIKED LOOKIN GOOD AS MUCH AS HE LIKED WINNINF.. KOBE ALWAYS PUT WINNING FIRST.
Like in 2004 when he refused to pass the ball to the lakers best player and heaved up a bunch of awful shots so the lakers would lose in 5? Openly telling the coaches that he's going to take over no matter what and single handedly shooting the lakers out of the series :sas2:?

It's intellectually dishonest though. If your team's hardest road is the Western Conference and then a cakewalk in the eastern conference why should you highlight only the finals as proof when it's the easiest especially with the lack of good centers in the final at that time.

:what:

Like I said, feel free to do the same for the WCF's. It's closer, but the story is the same outside of the sweep against San Antonio in 2001. The same year where they swept through the conference with the "real battles" and lost their only game to the Sixers in the Finals.

I'll admit I'm a Laker hater, so I'm coming at this topic unbiased.

From what I remember, Kobe had a lot to do with them getting to each one of those finals. Now once they got there, Shaq dominated.

But if you were alive and watching each one of those finals, you would remember that 1 was against the Pacers (Rik Smits and the undersized Davis boys).

One was against the Nets, with that fakkit Jason Collins

One was against the Sixers with Mutombo, Matt Geiger and some other clumsy white dude. I know Mutombo was Defensive player of the Year, but he didn't have the strength or quickness to fukk with Shaq. Nobody who was watching basketball back then thought that because he was the DPOY that he would even slow down Shaq. Sabonis had more success against Shaq than Mutombo.

It seemed to me like Kobe had a whole lot to do with them getting to the finals. Then when they got there Shaq had the much more favorable matchups, so he absolutely dominated them.

Seems pretty equal to me

That's a funny argument, considering probably the only series you'll find Kobe outperforming Shaq in those 3 years was the WCF in 2001 against San Antonio, consisting almost entirely of blowouts. Remember Duncan's zombie face on the bench next to Pop? Yeah that one.

Everybody knows Rik Smits didn't lead the Pacers to the finals jackass, what does that have to do with anything? You act like Shaq wasn't the best player in the NBA at that time
Im saying you nikkas pull up final stats but the first two teams they faced in the finals, their best players were SGs, like Kobe. How different would the numbers look if the best player was a HOF big man and they just had some scrub SG. Oh wait,

2002, Lakers-Spurs 2nd round

Kobe: 26ppg,5rpg,5apg, 45 FG%
Shaq: 21ppg,12rpg,3apg, 44FG%

Duncan:27ppg, 17rpg,4apg

Duncan shytted on shaq that series and Kobe was clearly their best player. Stop acting like Shaq was superman and kobe was some bum.
