Shaq wouldn't have won more than one championship without Kobe... It's already been proven.

Shaq was the most "dominant" player in the series because of his opposition... But Who did he play against directly? Vlade? Smitts? Ratliff? Mutumbo? How hard was it to drop 30 on them nikkas?

Yet Kobe was playing the best guards and then playing DEFENSE on the best guards... Even when they lost to the Pistons he was making life hell for Rip Hamilton..

Shaq didn't even win shyt with Penny, Jones, Van Exel, etc... He didn't even win shyt when he tried to piggy back with Lebronze

Shaq is great, don't get me wrong. But he wasn't a champion until he met Kobe and if people don't understand that then they're most likely borderline retarded when it comes to basketball :manny:
Just stop it lol

Yep. This is pretty much it. Even Kobe's FG% was pretty much a function of having the defense think twice about doubling Diesel.

THOSE ARE FINALS NUMBERS....WHEN LAKERS FACED SUBPAR TEAMS AND STATS WERE FOR NOTHIN BUT PADDING...IN THE PLAYOFFS, AGAINST ELITE TEAMS LIKE SACRAMENTO, IT WAS KOBE DOIN MOST THE DAMAGE

Arguing that there's a round more consequential than the finals? This is ban worthy. You've been reported.

Kobe stans don't want to hear this though. According to them it was all Kobe and it had nothing to do with Phil or Shaq. You can't use any logical argument to shyt them up because their brain doesn't function logically. I mean this guy is still arguing after being shown how much more dominant he was than Bryant in the finals and can't see even in the slightest that his argument loses.

Stans gonna stan:yeshrug:

Kobe played a big part in those title runs, even in 2000 he threw that iconic alley-oop to Shaq and got those key putbacks against Indiana in Game 4. They don't get through the West in '02 without him. Let that be enough, Kobe stans.

YEA IM PRETTY SURE RAY ALLEN WOULD BE SCORING 30 POINTS A GAME AND PUTTING TEAMS OUT IN THE 4TH WHILE SHAQ RIDES THE BENCH....SHAQ COULDNT DO IT WITH PENNY, EDDIE JONES, NICK VAN EXEL....YOUR ARGUMENT IS NULL AND VOID
Shaq wasn't in his prime when he was with Penny and he also ran into The Dream.

And what people miss when they mention the Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel years is that they ran into more experienced teams. Shaq was with the Lakers for 3 seasons before they won in 2000. In 97 and 98 they lost to Utah, who ended going to the Finals. In 99 they lost to the Spurs, who won the title. It wasn't like they was getting bounced out by bottom-feeders. They lost to the team that eventually went to the Finals/won the championship.

People also forget that the Lakers added Glen Rice, Ron Harper, Brian Shaw, and John Salley that off-season. They also brung back A.C. Green...veterans who won championships and solid players who knew their role. Van Exel and Eddie Jones wanted to be stars. That's what got them over the hump...Not Kobe. Like I said, replace him with Vince Carter, T-Mac, AI, Pierce or Marbury and they still win.
