The lakers are moving on from LeBron James after this season and LeBron feels a way. LeBron camp “Luka didn’t even want to be a laker”.

Lakers did everything for him lol, traded for AD for him, traded Russ for him, he wanted a pg so they got Dennis for him, changing his jersey number every year, drafting his son, etc. He needs to realize his age and the fact that he’s not that impactful when it comes to winning, lakers got a 26 year old superstar, no team would be catering to a 40 year old who can’t be the #1 guy on a winning team. Be grateful that the wonderful Rob Pelinka has allowed Bronny to still have a spot.

Edit: forgot to add that they fired multiple coaches for him too

It goes both ways though.

He's done alot for the Lakers as well....rescued them from being a bottom of the barrel franchise at a time when nobody was trying to play for the Lakers. And overall has brought a ton of revenue to the Lakers.

If a guy is bringing in all that revenue of course you acquiesce to his demands. He brought them back to relevance, brought a championship and his brand being the biggest most recognizable in the league was incredibly beneficial to the Lakers

What the Lakers did wasn't all that special. Every transcendent Superstar gets that kind of treatment. And if we're being honest they didn't even bend to his demands the way he wanted....none of the coaches they fired was even his preferred choice.....they struck out on every big move he wanted with the exception of AD who was literally orchestrated by him and his team and Russ who was also orchestrated by Bron and his team... and is the one move that he absolutely fukked up on and deserved to be held accountable for

Other than that Lakers have never been able to build a competent team around him without his assistance. And even the championship team that they accidentally built they gutted....wasted assets, was notoriously cheap. Overall just piss poor mismanagement

The one thing that had going was their loyalty to stars. They did right by Kobe and handed him the max at a time where he was no longer a max player. And even though Lebron will never be what Kobe was as a Laker....part of the reason the Lakers gave Kobe that contract was to send a message to future Superstars like Lebron that they would be taken care of even in the twilight of their career

So to now suddenly switch up that message and kick a Lebron in his twilight out the door is a bad look. If i'm Luka i'm looking at shyt like "they on my dikk now but the minute i get too fat and lose a step it's over for me:why:

honored his contract. put a banner in the rafters. broke records as a laker that might never be touched. considered by most of the nba and most fans to be goat of his generation.

smart money says the lakers will offer him a short term contract. even in his unc status he still has top 3 jersey sales and puts butts in seats. cash cow.

still. retire. nothing left to do

Luka will put butts in seats and we got Bronny to sell jerseys, don't need him

Look at what Houston did to get KD so they can try win now.

Is anyone gonna do this for "all NBA 2nd team" LeBron James?

Man I'm so sick of Lebron but even when he retires we still gonna hear from him and klutch. They constantly gotta control the narrative about him being the GOAT
Unfortunately I feel like he may take a broadcast gig or something. So we always have to hear from him

A lot of bullshyt in this post

First off, the Lakers were never irrelevant, and it's not true "nobody wanted to play for the Lakers". We were rebuilding and Bron showed up at the exact time other stars were rumored to be interested. We had 3 max slots, we were gonna get some stars regardless if Bron came or not.

Secondly, the loyalty to stars thing is bullshyt. Yes, the Lakers are loyal to REAL Lakers. Last time I checked Shaq got traded when he started acting like a bytch, and now Bron is being treated the same.

Y'all always wanna insinuate the Lakers should treat Bron like they did Kobe. Like bron is some fukking victim. Kobe didn't get to to influence every roster move on the Jim Buss era. Lots of shyt went down that Kobe didn’t approve of. Bron on the other hand got 7 years of being able to control damn near everything including his son getting drafted and podcast partner hired as coach

The Lakers gave Bron more than enough and don’t owe him shyt, especially whatever loyalty you think Kobe got.

What might be clear here is that Giannis might really be in play. No way they can risk being saddled with a $50m contract for a 40+ year old when you got a shot at Giannis. I really wish that Bron would be more graceful about this. He could easily take a pay cut and be a 3rd option with Luka and Giannis but he wanna act like it’s 2015 instead of 2025.

Seriously, the LeGBT are delusional as fukk fr. Kobe was flipping out in a parking lot because the Lakers wouldn’t trade Gawdnum for Jason Kidd and his best years were essentially squandered but lord forbid things don’t go Bron’s way. The entitlement is at cac levels atp :skip:

When was the last time a star has signed with the Lakers as a free agent?

Well, it makes sense, the man is 40+ years old.

We gotta stop fooling ourselves thinking that at his age he still holds weight in a front office, they know there's only so many years left that they can keep relying on a 40+ year old to be the man.

It goes back to what I said during the Luka trade that I honestly believe the Lakers management made that decision without Bron's opinion because in their minds, it's all about the future, everybody knows he ain't gonna be a part of that due to the fact he's 40 years old.

Are people forgetting that the man is 40? This ain't LeBron in his 20s or early 30s, where his presence alone can pressure front offices to act in his best interest.

It doesn't matter anymore, yeah I get he's “Lebron James” but at this stage of his career, he doesn't hold much weight anymore. Bron's my favorite player and got me into basketball when he was still in Cleveland going up against the Pistons and Celtics of the mid-00s, but I'm aware the end is near and am not surprised by these types of reports.

No team is gonna prioritize the feelings of a 40-year-old NBA superstar who could be out the door, in terms of retirement, by the next off-season.
