Y'all go back to work the day after Vacation?
I usually call in and say "I missed my flight and got rebooked for tomorrow" or "I'm stuck mid way and fly out tomorrow" and hide out at home/sleep.

You may be referring to taking a trip while on VACATION.

OP didn't say anything about taking a trip.
