It kinda reminds me of watching the Sopranos doc (any fan should be familiar with the College episode and how HBO’s execs were squeamish on Tony killing Fabian). Chase had to tell those idiots that how can anyone respect a mob boss (whether his crew or the audience watching) if he didn’t get his hands dirty. They saw the point he made and agreed to it but still made Fabian more of a bad guy to soften the blow on Tony’s image.
This is what this shyt reads like to me…HBO got scared of their protagonist being so cold and vicious, they tamed her all the way down and in turn made the Mel scene lose gravitas cause the Ellie who could do that was never built up to get to that point. Neil or Mazin needed to put their foot down like Chase did.

Apparently Duckman and Mazi said on their podcast that HBO let them decide the season lengths and they thought 7 was the right amount for the story they wanted to tell.wait a minute. I KNOW HBO didn't make folks wait years for a 7 episode season

So then the rushes feeling and shyt is all on them. They couldve worked 10 episodes, filling in more shyt and stuff, but made a choice not to. Seems like they heavily overestimated their own ability in regards to writing this season.

She's also 6 inches taller than Bella Ramsey. So it would basically be a small, teen-looking girl going up against a buff, grown woman. That would look ridiculous lol.

I think it's just what they wrote for the Ellie they got. That character they came up with is gonna fail for anybody. Bella Ramsey doesn't work as video game Ellie. This Ellie they wrote won't work for any actress

Tbh that's what the game does lol. I just looked it up for reassurance, but Ellie is 5'5 and Abby is damn near 6 foot. Ellie is taller than Ramsey but she's still pretty spindly.
That being said, I don't think many gamers were fans of the suspension of belief required whenever you'd see these two on screen at the same time. But video game Ellie was also a stone cold killer who was shown to be good with weapons in close quarters combat. Bella Ellie is a fukkin klutz and still, while being almost done with the story, not shown to really be a killer.
Abby is about 5' 8''.
So there's not a huge difference in height between game Abby & Ellie. They are also relatively close in age.
Katy O'Brian is 36 years old and 5' 7''. Meanwhile, Bella Ramsey is 21 years old and 5' 1''. Too big of an age and height difference. Not to mention Bella is skinnier and shorter than game Ellie.
If Fargo Season 5 can make a petite midget based out of Minnesota maker her look like a believable commando. Then, height shouldn't matter.
Btw, I highly recommend Fargo Season 5. Talk about a captivating thrill ride.
