Abby is about 5' 8''.

So there's not a huge difference in height between game Abby & Ellie. They are also relatively close in age.

Katy O'Brian is 36 years old and 5' 7''. Meanwhile, Bella Ramsey is 21 years old and 5' 1''. Too big of an age and height difference. Not to mention Bella is skinnier and shorter than game Ellie.

Should've definitely leaned into showing Ellie develop elite skills like the game so it's more believable, you already killed hundreds of grown men by that point so handling a buff chick wasn't the craziest leap

Ellie is only able to handle Abby in the end because she lost all her muscle weight being tortured and starved hung up on the beach. Ellie was never a match until she got Abby at her weakest.

After some thought I rate the season about a 6/10. Started strong. And I know its beating a dead horse but the horrendous casting of Ellie and the writing of her character really brings this show down. Just a huge fumble by HBO and from my understanding she got the role due to nepotism? Anyone can confirm this? If that isn't true than my bad but it was a huge mistake and its bleeding the show.

Also the casting of Abby is almost as bad. They really fumbled the two main characters and thats a shame.

As great as Chernobyl was, Mazin, it seems like, just doesn't get Ellie. No matter who you cast as Ellie, Mazin calls her incompetent so she was always going to be written this season as kind of dumb, even though the game and the first season makes it a point of showing that she's actually smart as fukk.

This season is full of people saving her or coming up with plans/strategy because she can't do it. It's her going against everyone's wishes, getting herself and/or others in trouble and needing to be saved and then scolded after. That's now how it was in the game.

Yeah, reading Mazin's take on "grown" Ellie really paints a clearer picture as to why the season was written the way it was and it kinda reassures my point that there's no actress out there that could pull off what was asked of Bella this season, just way too many different emotions each scene with little to no rhyme or reason to make the audience believe in them.

I'm just surprised that if Mazin was so dead set on this version of Ellie, he actually thought that it was OK to go along with the rest of scenes and encounters that worked best with Game Ellie and not bumbling teenager TV Ellie. How didn't he realized that if the wanted this version of the character he needed to ass new stuff for her to make more sense and come off better?

because once Grace Rudolph, who is considered one of the top reviewers amongst movies , games and shows says she is done with the series is a huge statement … the fact that she’s pro woman and LBGTQ & stated she wasn’t going to cover each esp this season because of how polarizing it is towards the latter … yet did a final review of the finale/entire season

saying shyt like … don’t be surprised if there is chatter about cancellation season 3 or at least completely changing the entire narrative/format
