Middle age/older latinos, especially church going latinos tend to be conservative. They are more willing to vote Republican because even though the party is anti-latino, they don't care because quite frankly they hate Hispanic immigrants too and want to see them dealt with. Plus those who have an anti-black bias will find that in the Republican party. They are less likely to weigh race as an issue compared to black voters.

Democrats problem is they often get trapped into thinking that immigration is the singular way to appeal to Latino voters. And they tend to line up progressive immigration activists to promote a certain message and these latinos ain't all down with that. That just demonstrates them being out of touch because like every other race, latinos want to know how can they economically move forward, how can their communities be safe, etc.

Democrats also have shot themselves in the foot with that Latinx bullshyt. And I'm sure as conservatives and even moderates, they not down with the transgender shyt that Democrats support. They don't support Carlos becoming Carla.

Good post

Yea it's a L but honestly don't see what the alternative would have been. Unlike for blacks Dems actually gave latinos tangibles with all kinds of immigration legislation that mainly benefited them over the years. That still wasn't enough since there are latinos against immigration now :dead:
The demographic shifts necessitated an attempt tho.

I'm trying to understand what people want out of this thread. Some of yall talking as if these latinos dont look stupid, are getting some big ole "tabgible" policy agendas from both parties and proving smart dumb nikka talking points. They ain't "getting shyt for their votes" either way, just kissing ass for a white power party.

Should we also aspire to vote against our own interests as well and join whites and some racist latinos in becoming conservative?

Should we be celebrating Democrats losing voters because they had the nerve to speak to peoples issues instead of ignoring them?

Instead of "voting Democrat" should we take the latinos example abd also aspire to be a voting block that can be easily swayed by white supremacists with their own agendas talking about "family" and pushing silly culture war wedge issues like gay rights and immigrants?

Some of yall showing your asses with this giddy excitement. This sort of shallow incoherent politics is not what we should be aspiring to.

I don't see the point half the people are trying to make in this thread other than saying we should be emulating broke, lost, confused, wannabe cac latinos who about to fukk up their own bag trying to be white and self righteous about vague "family values."

I do agree that Democrats gotta start smartening up and stop being out of touch with Latino voters though. They are not one big united progressive ethnic group, and they are not as offended by Republicans co-signing white supremacists and disparaging illegal immigrants as Democrars want to believe. I'm from New York and I know some latinos that got illegal immigrants in their own family still talking down to others about "working hard to come here" and "not having anything handed to you." Like he such a role model. Meanwhile nikka broke as a joke, living on welfare, and is only here because someone else put in the work and made the journey, so that he can be born American and pretend to be white.

But they stick their nose up at illegal immigrants with every bit as much resentment as a white redneck and they support MAGA sadistic policy against them because it satisfies their self important egos that "I worked hard to get here" even if they didn't do shyt.

Democrats gotta get wit the program and stop lumping in "Latinos" as a reliable and singular voting block. And they need better messaging to combat all this sensationalism over trans people and shyt that Republicans push on ignorant people. If Republicans is gonna go around making it personal and telling people that every Democrat is a lgbtq activist with blue hair and septum rings that wants to turn your child gay, than Democrats should stop being scared to get personal and push conservatives stereotypes of a bunch of toothless, uneducated, Donald Trump worshipping, Qanon conspiracy believing, white supremacists whack jobs.

The amount of people who are actually buying into shallow right wing propaganda about who Democrats and "liberals" are is just pathetic. They gotta stand up.

Latino pride is all fake and only works on TV.

If you ever been around any of them, they can't stand or care for other Latino nationalities. They're like Asians.

Most people are shocked when Latinos vote Republican, with all their anti Mexican and Southern border, Caravans etc hate speeches.

You really think a Cuban automatically granted some form of citizenship by the US govt if they can make it to a us coastline gives a single fukk about a border jumping Mexican or Guat :dahell:

:pachaha:
Democrats are like Vyseris in House of Dragon: The truth is slapping them in the face and they willfully choose to ignore it

THERE IS NO LATINO VOTING BLOC IN THIS COUNTRY

There is however:

Latino Evangelical voting bloc
Latino Conservative voting bloc
Latino Liberal voting bloc
Single issue Latino voters (guns, abortion, immigration, etc.)
Latino business interests voting bloc

Saying there's a Latino voting bloc when everyone knows we beef among each other based on nationality, regional differences, time in country, born here vs born abroad...it's just a disgrace

Did you notice the respect, the candor, the genuine conversation about appealing to Latinos in the last video? No shaming tactics, no both sides vs lesser of two evils, no get in line or get deported, no fear mongering, and no Latino men ain’t shyt rhetoric just plain o’l what can we do as party to reach this demographic and address their concerns.

Latinos don't vote in high enough numbers....that is why Democrats hate appealing to them.

If Dems got 50% of the white vote, they'd never lose....so it makes sense to court them.

If Dems keep their Black vote and make sure turnout is high, we can help them win in close states like Pennsylvania, Georgia etc.

With Latinos, you can spend MILLIONS and MILLIONS and get 60% of the vote with low turnout.

On top of that...."Latino" is too broad a category. This includes Nuoryicans/Dominicans in NYC, Puerto Ricans in Orlando, Cubans in Miami, Mexican-Americans that have been in Texas for 500 years, El Salvadoran folks that have been in LA for 5 minutes etc. You can't appeal to all those groups.

This is why they will continue losing

Chicanos: Largest Latino group in the US. Born here, DGAF about immigration
Puerto Ricans/Nuyoricans: 2nd largest. Also American citizens, DGAF about immigration
Cubans: 3rd largest. Got preferential treatment for decades, and despise Dems in general ever since JFK threw Cubans to the bushes during the Bay of Pigs. The extremists say Dems = Communists and Socialists and are a lost cause.

The other nationalities/groups don't have large enough numbers to sway an election. Putting aside the ones that can't even vote, they are then split by income, class, region, and viewpoints (a liberal Dominican in Washington Heights and a conservative Nicaraguan in Miami speak the same language and that's about it).

My Pops Forever RIP
the Latino vote isn't even a real thing for the reasons some have mentioned in this thread.

It's just really easy to get through to a Latino who thinks they're playing Temple Run with Communism and think there would be less problems if everyone was a Bible thumper like they are.
