I think he’ll let Tony say a few words on Collision (commentary) since they have history in WCW. As for a memorial graphic and 10 bell, I doubt it.

TK standing on business and not mentioning anything on his account or the company account, and of course there's plenty of discourse from fans that he's not honoring their "hero". :mjlol::stopitslime:

Knowing what we know about Snowman and how much of a hardcore wrestling fan he is (and likely SOHH/Coli former poster, current lurker), it wouldn't shock me if he was never really a Hoegan fan to begin with and the tapes probably cemented that. Outside of some of the wrestlers having wrestled Hoegan in the past (Sting, Jericho, Arn Anderson), there really was no connection at all between the promotion and Hoegan.

They were saying how Hogan was an important figure in the history of wrestling and should be honored. While I understand the impact he had on the business and the effect that would've been caused if he never existed, changing the landscape of the industry. Whether that means WWE looks completely different and/or doesn't exist or the fans for AEW, I understand if they don't want to mention anything due to the previous controversies surrounding him. Some critics just find reasons to complain when it doesn't concern them.

There's also the generational aspect too where most of the wrestlers in AEW never saw Hulkamania or even remember Hoegan before he went to WCW. With BATB '96 for example, Swerve, Hangman, and Ospreay were 6, 5, and 3 years old respectively when that happened.

Tbh being a foreign Fed Stan as a kid is probably why I never became a Hogan fan.

Peak Hulkamania was before I started watching, so it never felt current to me... and I'm 43 damn years old now. Nearly all active wrestlers are younger. I saw the WMs on tape so I understood it, but it felt like history whereas Warrior, Macho and Bret felt like the present.

The only time they really pulled me in was the Sgt Slaughter WMVII stuff - once Slaughter and Savage took Warrior out at RR I was cheering for Hogan to avenge him, but at some point my Dad gave me my first of many lectures about propaganda and patriotism and he made it all feel a bit icky.

Dad ruined British Bulldog coming down to Rule Brittania for me too, but that's a different story.

Being a Fed Stan I never got to see his heel work until way after the events. I was so convinced by Vince that whatever was happening there must be awful I never checked it out again after about 91.

So I could easily see how Hogan could've passed by people younger than me, especially if they were a foreign Fed Stan like me that didn't watch any WCW until the Network came out.

I imagine Will Ospreay couldn't give a single fukk. His first wrestling hero was AJ Styles!

I'm a few years younger and mostly remember being a fan of Bret at the start. I didn't watch much wrestling as a small child that I can recall. Prolly around the time Raw started was when I got in. So remember watching some stuff on Saturday mornings. Don't remember the Hogan win vs Yokozuna and looks like he left after KOTR so might have been that summer when I started watching it. So he had no impact in WWE to me as a young child or as an adult since I was away during his return, getting back near the end of summer of Punk. I only know the WCW Hogan growing up.

It'd be okay for a quick silent graphic at the start of the show like WCW used to do. No speeches, not even tolling of the bell. Just the opening 5 seconds before the show intro. Acknowledges his impact on the business without having to do any kind of endorsement of him.

WWE kind of has to do more, but doing a full tribute show like for Owen/Eddie seems very shortsighted and looks bad even on paper. Remember when the tapes came out, they full Benoit'd his ass and replaced him with fellow scumbag Ultimate Warrior in that role in the 80s/90s for a few years, and ever since bringing him back, crowds have shyt on him everywhere.

They didn't do that shyt for Bruno and Dusty and they were way more beloved/respected by the current audience at the time of death than Hogan in 2025.

Next 10-15 years or so you're probably going to be getting those who got into wrestling because of Cena, Punk, Styles, Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Ospreay, etc. and Hoegan will be a historical afterthought.
When we start hearing talk from people who grew up watching AEW :flabbynsick:

Maybe she should consider retiring for her own health/sanity. Kind of like Britt, it seems like the division has kind of passed her by. She doesn't have that same spark/appeal that she had when she was chasing the title. Rosa has the ability to be a coach or commentator though.
