At a High-Level, WWE is just coasting until WrestleMania, which isn't a good thing.
In Retail, stuff for Christmas Shopping has already arrived or arriving now, done months and months ahead of time.
Right now WrestleMania feels like "When we will get there, we will get there..." but there is no build up of possible matches, storylines that will draw a person to buy it.

Additionally its not just the Wrestling Product itself, but the core audience. WWE can say its PG-13, fine, but there is still a family atmosphere and a "Still Keep it PC" vibe. AEW has been asked to tone down the swears and violence, but it's still allowed and Tony Khan has allowed the brand to be more edgy.
That allows Sponsorships who are looking more for the Teenagers than Family, to place their Ads during AEW knowing that even if WWE has more viewers, more of the viewers these brands would be watching is watching AEW.
