Hopefully we will live to find out. Like I said, Republicans might implode again. It all depends on how they rebuild post-Trump.

I don't think 4 years time is enough to rebuild. Plus, Trump is turning his supporters against establishment Republican politicians. Doubt they can get the angry white males to support them in as soon as 4 years.

I haven't been alive for very long, but I don't think I've ever seen someone more set up to be a one-term president than Hillary Clinton. :mjlol:

She has four years to salvage what's left of her reputation and hope that the Republicans implode again in 2020.
The thing is the Repubs are such a disaster at a national level it's possible she could get re-elected. She'll be looking at a gridlocked congress and the odds of an economic downturn are likely.

She needs some signature legislation like the Affordable Care Act and the stimulus. I don't see many prospects for that. Maybe a small minimum wage increase, but I doubt that will be enough.

If the Repubs nominate a Kasich-type they'll win. If they nominate another crackhead like Cruz, I think she could get 2 terms.

if they groom paul ryan for it and she's underwhelming, i think he'd crush her

cruz' brand has been ruined by trump. so has rubios :mjlol:
What makes you think Ryan's hasn't? He's endorsed Trump this whole time as House Speaker. If he runs, the DNC/Clinton machine will make Trump Ryan's running mate.

Trump has done serious lasting political damage to the GOP. Every Repub running for high office will have to own their support of Trump for a whole generation.

if hillary underperforms, it's arguably forgotten in 4 years :yeshrug: you really disagree? republicans want her to fail, and half her voters are holding their nose and voting for her :dead:

how the fukk has paul ryan even 'supported' trump like that? all he has to say is 'i respected the will of the voters at the polls'. cruz and rubio got ethered, so theyll be seen as weak

Ryan has been catching the beats from Trump the last week and he's still endorsing. The alt-right is not going to support this dude, He is almost in Rubio territory right now.

It's so fukking obvious that EVERYTHING above is going to happen. Especially, the Supreme Court pick. People think these neoliberals are going to nominate something other than neoliberals judges? She is going to pick some former corporate lawyer that has the correct social positions but is a corporate stooge and will wipe their ass with habeas corpus.

Wikileaks released an email where John Podesta (Hillary's campaign manager) and George Soros were plotting on who to pick to replace Scalia hours after he died. They decided on some Republican judge from Texas who had some support among blue dog Democrats there. The court is fukked and has been since Bernie lost.

i dont think he was nationally exposed like rubio and cruz were, so that his brand has been ruined like anyone who went up against trump

i think the repubs have a better chance running paul ryan than anyone that was on that stage with trump. especially if he leads some 'heroic' push against hillary or some shyt :mjlol:

I don't know what you mean by "like that" but he endorsed Trump and still refuses to recant his endorsement. There would be attack ads for days using his own words and basically calling him spineless and unprincipled for not taking a stand against a mean-spirited racist misogynistic xenophobic conman. Trump's reputation will only get worse over time especially with younger voters coming up and his presidential run will be looked upon as a stain on American history like Jim Crow and McCarthyism. The trail of shyt he left will stink up the GOP for years.

i dont think that anyone is gonna hold it against him :yeshrug: the voters spoke, and the party let them go ahead with it. how could you blame paul ryan, or anyone, for what the majority of their voters voted for :heh:

i guess we'll agree to disagree :ehh: and like i said, this is based on hillary having a mediocre four years. if shes successful then :yeshrug: prolly win again

What if he works on some legislation with her instead? I think he will move more toward the middle than go way right. So being inflexible with Hillary for four years isn't that likely.

It would've helped if at some point he said enough is enough and pulled his endorsement. After the Khan fiasco, the beauty queen beef, or definitely after the p*ssy grabbing thing.

If he would've held a press conference and said "I can no longer in good conscience support Donald Trump" it would've went a long way. He could've afforded the political hit because he won't lose his House seat up there in left-leaning Wisconsin.

But he didn't so now he's married to Trump and has to own it.
