It'd be nice to see an article that calculates that. I remember seeing some article on Adele that explained she needed like 16 billion streams to make the some money as she had in sales (this is when she had $115M in retail revenue world wide, or around 10M albums sold)

They try to calculate the streams to have the same monetary value as 1 real sale.
So 1500 streams = 1 sale.

shyt is completely biased though, I think people with 1 big single might go platinum for an album of the single. Say a Nicki Minaj or worse a Flo-rida, no one wants Flo-ridas album but the streaming shyt will act like people are streaming his album and not that very single. They need a more advanced metric where distribution of the streams on the album is included.

Not really any work at all. No consistent date of release, not much actual promotion other than his twitter and a horrible version of G.O.O.D Fridays, sales obv didn't matter to Kanye as he didn't have a commercial release. Seems like the whole release has been more about trying to set a new standard of doing albums, which I can applaud from an innovating standpoint.
