My walmart already has this setup. 95% self checkout, including a seperate area for 20 items or less. 1 cashier for alcohol and cigs, 1 cashier for electronics. All the ex-cashiers seem to do shopping for the pickup and delivery orders
That's basically why I only shop there now, you can avoid contact with everyone, especially if you go before 8 am. I was spending hella money on instacart.
