I was too outspoken (Long Read)

I was a BA at a healthcare company and I was told the position would be more "technical" but technical to them meant using excel. The basic functions of my job were to take data in excel, add a company header and footer, call it a "report" and email it to people. I never had access to the data that populated the report but I was responsible for answering questions about it which meant I had to go to someone else, wait for them to schedule a meeting, get the answer and then get back to the client...fukking 5-7 days for some shyt I could research myself if they had given me access.

Then the technology we were using was busted. We had a validation query that needed to be run for our monthly reports. It was well over 500 reports (a report for every business that had healthcare through us) and the query only validated 7 reports at a time and that hoe took 23 HOURS TO RUN!!! Do the math. Actually most of the proccess required some kind of riduculous manual work and I just got sick of it.

I made some suggestions on how we can improve processes and my boss flat out told me that's not my job and I'm to do the processes how they are but that didn't stop me because I felt like I was wasting my time. I just kept bringing it up, sending emails with suggestions or the amount of time it took. Finally I told my boss that he was out of touch with our technilogical needs and with him having a Finance background that was understandable. He didn't like that LOL!! (Go figure). Anyway, one day I had some other ridulous task to do where I had to manually go through about 50 text files, combine them into one and sum the totals and send the sum to one of the programmers and I stayed at home to do it because at least if I'm going to do some bullshyt, I can do it in my damn pajamas while eating a bowl of cereal. My boss hit me on IM and told me that I can do this task in the office and that I'm never allowed to work from home again.

Next morning I came in, he called me into his office and said because I worked from home the day before and he felt I should have been in the office, he was putting me on leave and recommonded me for termination. My reply? YES!!! *TIGER WOODS FIST PUMP* I bopped out his office and starting packing my shyt with the box the box I had sitting under my desk because I planned on leaving anyway.

I wouldn't have advised the fist pump but I'm glad you got away from the job, your manager was clearly inept and threatened by you lol.

Yeah probably wasn't the BEST idea but I was way too relieved. I went through MONTHS of frustration. The icing on the cake was when I was demoted because they revamped their hiring structure. Since I was there less than a year I became an entry level BA and the dude who was there more than a year was a senior BA but it was his first job out of college. Son didn't know how to use "strikethrough" and would insert drawing lines through words in documents. Same dude who was going to MANUALLY add up about 4 million dollars worth of claims using a calculator because he didn't know he could copy the info from the text file into excel and use a formula...but he was the leader. I just got off the hook after that.

If it all comes crashing down then it all comes crashing down. I'm done trying to stop the rain.

 I sat next to this kid in the back of the class because some chick took my seat. He starts asking me questions and talking to me and I realized dude is gay as hell. How do I politely go about telling this dude I'm not bout that sword fighting life?

Did he ask you out? If not he's probably just friendly and not trying to get with you. If you just generally don't hang around gay people ask him if he's gay,if he says yeah tell him sorry but you're not comfortable around gay men and you don't want to talk.
