Do you really want to owe your mom money? I mean that could open the door for scrutiny. Anytime you buy something that could have went as "extra" on the loan payment there could be some side comments. Plus if you get a position where you're unable to pay it back. I know you're saving interest but if something goes wrong you'll have to save a relationship with your mom.
