@Rawtid staying with my current gig (got a promotion and i'm banking a bit more) was definitely the way to go. I facetiously talked to the head Maintenance guy about putting in a word
with the IT guysHe might have actually said something. The head IT dude was impressed when I showed him I was studying A+. He got his current gig and didn't even get one

That "who you know" shyt is REAL outchere, but im shoring up these certs so I can get better offers down the line. Right now though, I got a sweet thing going.
