Tall women face the same type of scrutiny as fat women, dark skinned folks and short men.
Some women are tall & fat & dark skinned.

Being a tall black girl with an athletic build, I used to. H A T E it. I’m almost 6'3 and I’ve been called a she man; i’ve had guys not want to talk to me because of my shoe size, which is an 11 (Like a 6'3 girl should be a size 6?). People always ask or assume that I’m gay; people make jokes about dating me. I could go on. I think there should be more appreciation posts on tall girls.

As a short girl I can confirm this, still. I have had so fukking many men gush about my height and how it makes them feel big and strong.
And thats fukking scary. It really is. Their obsession with women’s height is all about toxic masculinity.

Tall women scare the fukk out of them because they dont imagine they’ll be default be stronger.

talk about not so fukking subtle threats of violence and subjugation. Why do you not only NEED to be bigger, stronger than us but feel emasculated if you arent? Why are all the comparisons for tall girls put toward images of large, scary, violent men?

Black women already have to fight for a slice of femininity. Being a tall Black woman clearly makes that battle way, waaay harder.


Plus I ride hard for tall women. pick my stunted ass up and have your way with me.

To be honest thats the paradox between the general beauty standard which demands being petite and weight 125lbs or less with long hair, heart shaped face and medium sized perky breasts. Bonus points for a rare, exaggerated hourglass figure– all levied against whats pushed as the Fashion/media beauty standard with is being very tall, waifish with visible bones, prominent cheekbones and severe features.


They clash pretty hard. However, heightism doesn’t favor tall women who arent runway, swimsuit and supermodels. And models have their dating pools pretty restricted to other models and people in their industries for the most part through will and what they are socially surrounded by but also their heights are still considered emasculating to a lot of men while they obviously still have beauty privilege in spades.

I know a few tall, gamine models personally and they speak of men calling them intimidating and undateable quite often.

I read somewhere on a male dominated forum by 9/10 of the men that they aren’t even attracted to models, esp supermodels because they are too thin and tall and all they have going for them are their faces. So supermodels really don’t have it all. Most of those men agreed they favored short women (slim thick built).

Yeah, as a tall femme AFAB I can definitely confirm this bullshyt. Not only the giraffe, sasquatch, yeti shyt..but also being thick and tall. They don’t make clothes for us! It’s only okay to be tall if you’re thin like a goddamn supermodel. It’s all BS.
My husband is shorter than me and couldn’t possibly care less. I got lucky with that cause dating short guys has been horrible in the past. My husband doesn’t care if I wear heals either and that’s the biggest fukkin miracle to date.

I was just talking about this to my friend. My height and my weight have always been insecurities of mine. Especially since men constantly bash tall girls and “fat”/“chubby” girls, and I’m both
