I have no upper body strength.
I can only plank for 20 seconds before my arms give out.

Gonna research some tummy flattening and waist defining routines before going today

Try an ab roller it might help you. I have one due to my scoliosis and I try to strengthen up my lower back. Or go with your first thought.
