I was at work today, I'm a dishwasher at a restaurant.

Some dude/a coworker comes up to me

Him: Jaro how you doing today?
Me: I'm good man, just being positive bettering myself, looking towards the future
Him: Are you saying that to just be saying that?
Me: Would I waste my time lying to you? Would I waste my time lying to anyone?
Him::whoa:

So then I'm outside bussing tables, because at my job the AM dishwasher busts tables, delivers dishes, cleans spills, takes out trash, and other random things lol.

A woman comes up to me, "Hi can I have left something over there on that table"
Me: Oh okay m'am you can grab it. excuse me"

Then she walks over with me and says:
"I've been watching you work, you're such a hard worker, it's amazing, and I am amazed, and I just wanted to let you know that you're doing a wonderful job"

And then she stuffed something in my pocket.

I was SO happy, not even for the tip but because she acknowledged my work and said that she was amazed by it and labeled it as "Amazing".

Later I checked my pocket, as I had held off because I didn't want the money to overshadow what really mattered, the compliment. But the tip was a $20 bill.

Man, whoever that woman is I'd like to thank her for appreciating me, and this is me disregarding the tip.

Thanks, I'll keep working harder to pursue my dreams and better myself and this world.

Sounds like my job is about to start firing people again. Every time they say they are focusing on employees that means they are getting rid of nikkas.

Good job staying positive breh.

A long time ago, when I worked at Burger King in junior high school. I was on drive-thru. I got nice at it and kept a positive attitude. I had fun with it and worked like l knew what the future held.

So one day, this woman named Marcia comes in and offers me a job working at her clothing store. I got on, selling mixtapes and incense. It was a nice little gig. From there, another dude noticed my outlook and work ethic, and hired me to work at Camelot Music at the mall.

One time, I was working as a night auditor for a hotel down south. This dude that was the District Manager for a Rent-To-Own company just offers me a Manager position at one of his stores. Just off the strength, breh.

So what I am saying is, just keep up the good work. You never know who is watching. But even if no one is watching, live up to your potential, just for your own pride.

I always tell service workers that I appreciate and notice their efforts, skill, or hospitality.

Nice.
