Don't forget that the original Naevia was played by a racially ambiguous Indian actress, so they kept complaining about the new Naevia being "too black" and ugly. They called her all sorts of monkeys, apes, and ghetto.I need to take the opportunity, now that I have a keyboard, to write why white people/viewers hated the character Naevia so much in Spartacus.
She was a black female slave that had been raped and tortured repeatedly by white Roman trash and she didn't trust any of them. She ended up killing a very sketch Roman who was friends with another slave (a really popular character) and everyone hated her afterwards, calling her annoying. They were mad because she treated Romans the same way she was treated. Again, she had been a slave all her life and because she fell in love with another slave a Roman cacette was fukking she got thrown into the mines and raped for months. She became my favorite character when she became strong and the only person she was willing to protect was herself and her man.
She's one of my favorite TV characters and she doesn't get enough clout.
She was one of my favorite characters and even though I disagreed with some of the things she did in season 3, the hatred shown for her was absolutely laughable. On some #NotAllRomans shyt.
