my 11 year old cousin needed help with is him homework, so i tried to help him

i look at the paper, and it's a word problem for multiplication

me: all you have to do is double the number

cousin:

me: yeah double it

cousin: what do you mean?

me: double means to times 2 (didnt want to say multiply)

cousin: ok

me: what's the answer?

cousin : i dont know what double means

me: times it by 2; (i say it six times, as he's thinking of the answer)

i tell my brother, and he breaks it down 1+1 2+2, etc... my cousin answers the correct answer and im sitting there like you were just practicing times tables
