Completely different from my experience.

I spent nine hours up there. One and a half in a court room. The rest in a jury pool room. You do get paid for mileage and your time plus your pay from your regular job.

It's boring as hell though. Bring a laptop, books, anything to keep you entertained. Also make sure you stay up there until you get dismissed. Some guy left early and I'm pretty sure they will probably arrest him.
