Why do I picture you yellig at someone like ":damn: nah I ain't got it, leave me alone". Lol

Nah, I just hit them with "I ain't got it". Real calm like.

The last time I nearly loaned someone a large amount of money ($500) which they claimed would be for rent, the husband brought a $500 dollar dog 2 days later. So the $500 that should have been for rent, got spent on a dog? I'm glad I went with my gut and said no because I would have had to go over there and act an ass.

Certain people I will just buy what they need. Like if my nephew needs money for a bus pass or school books but I don't give people money directly anymore.

What's the most amount of money you would lend someone?

I cap my limit at $200, anything more is no. Friend tried to ask me for $500 :childplease:

I lent a family member $6000 a few months ago, I may not get it back. Won't be a big deal if I don't, well let me stop. It'll be a bigger issue for them if they don't pay it back, cuz my bank to my family will just be closed forever.

Friends, I don't lend money to. It's not even that I expect it back, i feel like friends get weird when they owe you money. I avoid all that.

:ohhh: which part was the typo tho....

Not really a typo but I was thinking "Don't get any loans, looks for grants, scholarships..." but my fingers didn't type it that way LOL I edited it to say grants, scholarships and a job. Props on pointing it out though.

I'd love to be in a situation where I could loan someone $6000 and not feel anything about it. At the same time if they needed that kind of bread, I would just gift it. I wouldn't even want to deal with the hassle that comes with repayment.

I didn't have $6000 liquid to spare, so I cashed in some Roth IRA I've had for a long while but dont really keep tabs on. It needs to be repaid or I'm going to take a tax hit next year.

Should they not repay it, the bank is closed. I have a feeling some will come with a sob story and hand out when my wife is done w fellowship, all I have to point to is this loan and that will dead all of that. May have been sinister on my part, but loaning family $6000 and not getting paid back will probably prevent them from asking for $10K or $20K in a few years when they know i have it to spare.

Sometimes you gotta do family like that, tho. :yeshrug:

But if they paid the 6k back, you'd have no problem making another family loan? That's very cool and kind of you. We have beefs in my family going back years over unpaid loans but like for $45 LMMFAO!!

Last funeral I was at I heard "Motherfukker still owe me $50". LMMFAO!! Well, he's dead now. Take some flowers or something and STFU.

Depends on the situation. It's only money. My family well-being is more important to me than that. But I also don't put money into unsustainable situations tho, so if someone is bold enough to ask for a loan, I'm going to ask for full disclosure. Usually there is another solution.

Back when I was young and a simp, I made some loans to women I was sorta involved with and I never expected to get paid back. Got paid back years later with a heartfelt later and accrued interest long after we'd lost touch. I'm not betting against odds again like that tho. :russ:
