MAME on Retroarch is looking more viable by the day 
Heard it was a nightmare and wasn't worth the time but it's just typical RA procedure: you have to mix and match cores depending on what you're playing and pertinent information has to be scoured from various sources instead of having straight forward documentation from RA devs themselves.
