A store like Best buy or micro center should be able to transfer the data to the new one that's already stored on there. I forget what the machine/process is called, but you shouldn't have to start from scratch.

i got the same ticket back in the day but my boss was tight with NYPD and got me off with a phone call.
a few months later the ticketing scandal blew up because people were routinely doing this. the cop who
got me off said I got lucky because if it happened then i would have been assed out.
