So many millenials are reminiscing of their prime party/nightlife years- the good old days from 10-15-20 years ago

And gen z finally admits they’re jealous and envious of millenials, and wishes that they were teenagers/young adults 15-20 years ago.

Google search about millenial optimism- here it is :

between 2002 and 2014, People from all walks of life were more talkative, adventurous, social, open, normal, carefree. Not staying it was perfect but people behaved normally in social situations. You still had to go out to socialize and have fun because in-house entertainment options at home were still more or less limited ( unlike now) even with new technology coming up every 3-4 years or so . Video games, DVDs, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, GameCube, Wii and internet at home( computer) . Now with modern iPhones/smartphones, you have endless information/knowledge/porn/social media/distractions at your fingertips, at your disposal, you can be a total hermit/recluse and stay inside all day without talking to someone and be entertained. There’s no more motivation or incentive for many people to go out and get out of their comfort zone anymore. The combination of High speed affordable internet/Social media/modern smartphones made people more timid, scared, entitled, impatient, impulsive, close-minded, envious, fake nostalgic, easily influenced, weak-minded, lazy and introverted. People don’t feel the need to meet people now, their social skills are trash and their ability to cope with frustration or battle through adversity is inexistant. They have no self worth and real life confidence because they scroll social media instead of living real life on their own terms and in their own time . They drink and party less because they Have no friends IRL. They meet/date less women and have less sexual encounters than before

Netflix was not as widespread/popular back then too. Malls, blockbuster videos, arcades, nightclubs, underground raves, bars, movie theaters and concert halls were poppin.

2002-2014 was a period of transition between the old era of media/ communications and the new era that started in 2015-16 when instagram, twitter, Snapchat, streaming( twitch), TikTok, vine started to dominate people’s lives. And YouTube/ instagram/TikTok/ vine social Media influencers became larger than life.

We enjoyed the convenience of modernity and tradition. We had the best of both worlds. Tinder/ hinge didn’t exist back then but plenty of fish, blackplanet and okCupid did. Blackberries and early Nokia smartphones weren’t as advanced and addictive as the ones we have now so the ability to enjoy moments in real life wasn’t affected. It didn’t take over our lives at all. Phone Internet at the time was very expensive and slow. And with these basic flip phones or blackberry phones, the only two things you could do was text and call. And social media wasn’t as ubiquitous and the the monster it is now. It was limited and confined to the physical internet( computer) and inaccessible through Nokia/blackberry. You had to stay inside at home sitting on a chair to use the computer and browse twitter/Facebook/MySpace/msn messenger and online forums. Now you can be in a club, beach resort, tourist attraction or festival and still be able to doomscroll social media slop because it is available at your fingertips. It’s sad because people are losing their sense of wonder and ability to enjoy life as it is in real time. Nothing can impress them anymore.

More evident when you go to “social events” in 2025
Everyone is a zombie
TikTok/social media/covid brain fog did a number on most people

The youth( under 30) didn’t look physically exhausted, socially awkward, literally dead-eyed and spiritually finished than they do right now. You see young people today and they look like they’ve been through a war or something, and all their confidence, self-worth, energy, lust for life, strength, joy, willpower, motivation, vitality and spirit has been sapped away. They seem tired, bored, jaded and confused about everything , they walk like soulless zombies. Not gonna lie since Covid began, I slowly but steadily noticed it more and more until it was so obvious for everyone to see. They can’t or won’t live their lives and realize their own dreams anymore so they settle for living vicariously through the lives of others. Lots of hate watching and doomscrolling with this generation . Social events at nightlife venues like bars are done brcause people lost the energy and the social skills to interact with each other .

Believe it or not, being lonely and isolated from everyone, and living through a screen for 4+ hours a day during corporate, authoritarian, stressful and anticlimactic covid lockdowns and restrictions that lasted 2 full years and A half had serious and permanent effects/ damages/impact on people’s mental health. Long Covid, Covid causing chronic diseases like diabetes, introversion, brain fog, etc. We were not supposed to live like this. We weren’t supposed to use devices like smartphones that were specifically designed by well paid autists to zero sum hack our limbic system. People scroll their smartphone from sunrise to sundown with no rest on a regular basis.

The easy and endless access to Porn on the internet/social media actually ruined a lot of social skills, risk-taking, naturаl partner-seeking in adolescents and young adults because they be like “why even bother when I can just see bad bytches anonymously from the comfort of my home and convenience of my phone, at the click of a button?” The damage it did to many people in two generations now is unparalleled. Truly as a society we need to denounce it as the filth it is.

Easy access to Porn is the biggest weakness/kryptonite for men online just like easy access to validation, better-looking popular/richer men, emotional feedback, constant interactions, drama, and social engagement through social media is the biggest weakness/kryptonite for women online ( social media provides engagement, likes, follower count, comments and followers)
