So they’d pretty much get laid off then :unimpressed:

No...

Laid off is getting no work. Getting less work means just that...less work!

Keep in mind, there are thousands of part time workers. Literally thousands...But, most don't show up to get work. Also, they aren't guaranteed work to boot and they all understand this when they signed up...

Lastly, what is going on has really little to nothing to do with port workers and a lot to do with the powers that be along with other sectors of the supply chain...

It is these people who are creating scarcity and inflated prices. They are making bank!! They just want the masses to believe it is the port workers who is causing the backlog which is furthest from the truth...

So Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego don't have ports anymore???:dwillhuh:

They do..

Each port handles certain types of cargo...

Also, those ports are smaller than LA/LB....

Once again, it isn't the port workers that is the issue...

Gotta get truckers to pick up the cargo. Gotta get wherehouses to be open 24/7.

They don't wanna do it, so we have a situation...

Ships get stacked where the cargo has to get unloaded in order.

For instance Seattle containers might be at the bottom and Long Beach up top because it was planned that the ship would offload in Long Beach first.

The system continues to be exposed for the fukking sham it is. :francis:

Does nobody in this supplychain charge interest or have legal recourse because of this sht? Like the ships that’s out at sea? I’d imagine some contracts are not being lived up to if ports not accepting their cargo + the massive amount of money they’re losing just floating with no viable solution in sight. Surprised we haven’t heard anyone dumping containers or abandoning ships yet.

It was a ship that was abandoned I think in Egypt. the company folded and one by one the crew left until the captain was left by himself for like 4 years. He was floating on a dark ship and would swim to shore for supplies...for 4 fukking yeeeahs(Phil leotards voice).

Some shady shyt does go on.
