Only on the internet I hear that this album was weak. I thought this shyt went double plat the way the streets play it man

THIS

I remember people used to argue me down cuz they figured it sold like 4-5 million based on all the play it was getting & for how long. this album was everywhere for closer to 2 years.

these internet dudes don't understand.

This shyt was borderline trash, the production was awful, there's like 4 really dope songs on there imo. But you're right, EVERYBODY had this album, I could quote this whole shyt after like the first 3 days it was on the street I played it so much. Imo, all the Lox albums (group and solos) have been weak, the best one was Styles first one and even that is only like a 3.5 to me, weak production.

That's your opinion. I still play this album from time to time ....only song I don't like is that drag on and Eve shyt

That's why I hate streaming. You know how many copies of this album were probably made. Imagine if these guys got paid Everytime you dubbed a tape or song. The numbers would have been ridiculous

Not just this album. CDs I'm general were dubbed all day everyday

THIS and bootlegs.

I still have the dubbed Fuji cassette, with the handwritten tracklist.

that's why I don't get caught up in sales. especially now when sales aren't even based on sales anymore.

its always impact over sales.

The production was, for it's time, very good. It's just older critics, and older fans, could probably tell, it wouldn't age well, and while that isn't entirely true, I think songs like Blood Pressure, don't have the same intensity that they did in 2000, while songs like Felony nikkas are pretty timeless. A song like Ryde or Die bytch just isn't what I would play in 2020, but at the time, it was hot.

Jadakiss first solo was the same, I loved it, but older fans knew it wasn't a classic, and a lot of the album has aged poorly.

And I doubt Jennifer Lopez ever heard those diss tracks lol

i think i'm one of the few here that rock with the debut more than this. "Money power respect" aged better to me and the title track is better than anything on "We are the streets" :yeshrug:

also, how the f*ck is swizz gonna produce the best beat on MPR with "All for the love" but couldn't duplicate anything close to it on "We are the streets"?? :heh:
Exactly. Nikkas here heavy on that nostalgia drug. Was a big disappointment in real time. Swizzy fukked it up bad. Go Head off ROD2 and All For The Love off MPR were better than any song here

It had Premo, Swizz and Timbaland in their prime, and the rest of the RR guys, PK, and those ones. It was standard RR production, no different than RR. Vol. 1 or DMX second album, or his third.
ROD Vol 1 had way better production than all of the albums you mentioned. FOMFBOMB had better production than WATS and And Then There Was X. Swizz fell off hard and was overworked. PK and Grease usually went in
