I'm a actually close to a month late making this thread, but him extending with LA reminded me to do it.
Several weeks back, a coworker of mine just asked me at random, "do you think Luka will ever win a title, because I don't" (said coworker is a 29-year old white male by the way)...
My instant response was yes, he'll win one. I said I think its kinda crazy that he's 26 and entering Y8 and you think he'll never win one...
Coworker responds with, he's peaked already, and LA fukked themselves making him their franchise player. He based this opinion off of, Luka was playing pro ball at 15 in Euroleague, so at 26, he's an 11-year vet, and 11 years in is late to start changing your regimen and habits to reach a championship ceiling.
He also talked about Luka's Harden-esque play style and such.
My defense was, Dirk didn't win his title until Year 14 in the NBA. KG was Year 13. Luka has time, and it's believable to me that maybe he's end of his prime when he gets one, but I don't see him finishing his career without one. The Watch is certainly on as guys of his era have already won a championship (Giannis, Jokic, Tatum, Shai) and even Embiid has an MVP. The more guys who win championships before Luka, the more the pressure will rise, because he is about to be an 8-year vet....it aint Year 3 anymore
If he finishes his career without one, it'll be one of the most underperforming careers ever, relative to expectation from start to now. I have him winning 2 tops, but definitely one....I'd be stunned if we get to the end and he has 0.
But for you all, over/under, do yall think Luka wins a championship, and of so, how many?
