As a production head, I really love the joints on Doctor's Advocate produced by Just Blaze, Kanye West, Nottz, Hi-Tek, and Mr. Porter.

I thought the production on DA was a level above Massacre, and that Massacre was a little bit too long.

However, the name dropping all over Game's early projects really kill some of the replay value for me, and at this point I'd really need to run through both albums again. 5 years ago I would've been very confident in picking DA over Massacre, but as 2018 creeps up to the door, I'm not so sure I'd stay form on that choice if I gave the Massacre a listen this week.

Will report back.

The Massacre gets overlooked cause of the club songs but that shyt is a really good - great album

It got some of 50s best songs and some of the decades best songs on it
It really does. It was one of the first albums that came to mind in that thread from earlier this month about making a 10 track version of an album to make it better.

Not even looking at the singles or the diss track: In My Hood, Supposed to Die Tonight, Position of Power, I Don't Need Em, Baltimore Love Thing, Rider Music, God Gave Me Style, Ski Mask Way, and Guns Come Out were all very dope.
And obviously the Hate It Or Love It remix was :banderas:

nah gotta disagree with this one, this song itself takes the cake over The Massacre. that album was a little too commercial for my taste. plus the intro was a good way to start off the album

See, that's in my top 5 most underrated Just Blaze joints, and it's the first time Nas ever rapped on a beat by Just Blaze.

That was a pretty big moment if you were a production nerd that wanted to hear Nas on Jay's go-to producers, or Jay on Nas and Mobb's go-to producers.

I would have to go back and give an honest listen to each project, but I most definitely feel you.

GRODT was the album that made 50 a megastar, but I do remember enjoying his mixtapes prior to the album and the Massacre just as much.

The energy behind 50's (G-Unit) pre-GRODT run will probably never be felt again.

Them nikkas could do no wrong..

:blessed:

Problem Child is probably my favorite 50 joint ever.

I still remember being :mindblown::banderas: when I finally found a version of it without Kay Slay screaming throughout the song, and ironically it was on Kay Slay's album.

i remember when this dropped alot of people were praising this song, i used to play it religiously on repeat due to the content they were rapping about. Nas dropped alot of gems in his verse alone. Just Blaze really outdid himself too.

Listening to that track vividly brought me back to Summer 05 as a 9 year old kid trying to steal mongooses and playing ding dong ditch & manhunt :mjcry:

The Massacre is >>>> a LOT of albums that dropped in the '00s.

Only thing that ever hurt that album is the fact that it came on the heels of GRODT.
