this writer won't be watching football, but will he be watching the next big ufc fight or boxing match? :lupe:

plenty of professions where ppl get paid peanuts to put their lives at risk.

Unless it's a career ending, or life altering injury, I don't feel sorry for any football player making 6, 7, 8 figures to play a game
Everybody who plays the sport are subject to the health hazards though, not just NFL players. You're already seeing more parents saying they won't let their kids play football.

True.

But the risk is much more dangerous at the college/NFL level.

Everyone who plays sports is subject to health hazards.... it's not exclusive to football.

that " i won't let my kids play football" shyt isn't really new either, and by the time High School rolls around, most of their kids will probably be playing football.... the reactionary responses of parents is really overstated.

This writer can't really watch many major sports if it's about "morality"

NBA/College Basketball,Nascar,Boxing,Soccer,Hockey etc. are all out of the question morally.

wealthy northeast jewish families have never let their kids play football. Most of these writers are products of those families. It's entirely overstated.

Yea, Tennis players definitely suffer when they age. You don't see the damage until it's too late and when you do, you won't give a shyt about that player anymore.

Because in part, their kids aint exactly athletically inclined:heh:

at that, those rich white kids who took to sports like crew, golf, tennis, water polo, equestrian etc. are they morally "right" ? Because their sports are very much insulated from undesirables ( poor people, people of color) and promote behavior to keep such establishments that way.

It has a lot to do with it. But as you pointed out, parents not letting their kids play football has been around forever. In the northeast, there's a common denominator there....which mirrors the sports media(white, jewish, northeast, Syracuse). The guys writing about football were the kids whose parents didnt let them play.

It's a violent sport no doubt. With clueless fans who celebrate violent hits.

I like the sport but not the violent side of it. Same reason i never cared for boxing or MMA. Tackle someone. Fine. No need to hit them so hard to purposely cause injury.

cant play football on friday nights breh. these guys never played football. THEY'RE not the ones causing a dent in youth football numbers

dudes really cant face that one way or another, this game is dying. everything has a tipping point, and that usually doesn't come with as strong of a case as CTE and ALS

Tennis is a non-contact sport, in what ways do tennis players suffer after their careers?
