You're an idiot.

There is nothing niche about football. Nothing creates a spectacle like football games

Also, how does it fade without something taking it place?
nobody cares about football outside of the US borders. that means it has a NICHE. as for your subjective opinion on spectacles, football games are boring as fukk, even to some fans. it's actually not a spectacle at all, it's full of tv timeouts and stoppages in play.

in the context of American sports, nothing is more popular than football....

a niche sport, is something like crossfit...... even fantasy football has grown into a sport all it's own.

With all the horror stories of football, there is an endless supply of people. willing to risk those hazards just for the chance to play football at the college level or NFL.
im not talking about american sports. i've already acknowledged that. and you could once say the same for boxing and horse racing, and baseball, more recently.
fantasy football is a sport of its own? :heh:

"endless supply"? where do you get this from? is that a fact?

So, what sport is going to overtake football once it "fades"? :ld:

What sports are even a threat to do so? :ld:
:yeshrug: who knows? if i told you in the 80s that MMA would be as popular as it is, would you have believed me? if i told you in the 60s that football would become national religion over baseball, would you have believed me?

if i knew the answer, i would have already invested money in it. also im speaking long-term. football has about 2-3 decades of dominance left, unless someone dies on the field as a result of a hit or enlarged heart brought on by popular PEDs or something (very possible).

Lol at niche sport
rugby is also a niche sport. but it's insanely popular in some places. can any of you name a star rugby player? tell me the difference between the codes?

travel the world. NOBODY cares about this game except us. they think it's p*ssy rugby at best and at their most confused they see it as a combination of robocop and MMA with a weird oblong piece of leather hobbling around

tom brady is married to the most famous model in brazil, possibly the only country that actually treats models like real stars with talent, and no one has any fukking clue who he is

for some perspective: the only sports that aren't niche are basketball and soccer. right now in north and south america, the caribbean, africa, europe, asia, and oceania, millions of people are playing these games or following professional leagues.

hardly anyone is playing aussie rules football, american football ("gridiron"), or bulletball. these are niche sports

I'm still not getting how it's a nice sport . It's the biggest sport here by a landslide. The rugby comparison is silly.

Junior Seau's suicide did a number on me. From that point on I found it difficult to enjoy the NFL like I once did (I still love college football though, which is odd). I tried to quit watching the NFL cold turkey, and that shyt is HARD. They really do have us on a leash. :wow:

I quit playing fantasy football and restricted my NFL viewing to Eagles and sometimes NFC East games only. And I never watch Thursday Night Football, not even when the Eagles play.

this idea is anathema right now, but will be a touchstone moment in 30 years

football will be like tobacco by the time we have grandkids, just less popular :heh:
pretty much man.

I have no idea why brehs are even laughing at dude. The violence, the injuries, the stealing of taxpayer dollars, and the all around doucheness of the NFL. Ive grown tired of the sport too.

This is a dumb thing to say. Football doesn't have a non-violent side. The violence is an intrinsic part of it. Unless you mean flag football. :yeshrug:
Dont get me wrong I love the contact part of the sport where you have bodies colliding as one tries to make a tackle. But some hits i see out there make me cringe and you can tell the people laying the hit intended to harm the other person.
Like there was this one time i seen a guard hit a linebacker so hard had me like :comeon: Im fine with bringing someone down. But going for the head like they used to in the 80s and 90s was brutal.

Oh and the other problem i have with football is how they segregate the position. If a QB is on the field i feel he should be able to be hit the same way you hit any other player. If you are gonna protect the QB then protect every one. It's 22 football players on the field. Not 21+1QB
