I'm in my junior year of college and I now understand how people can gain attention and popularity on campus with both staff and students.
There is one simple key that comes naturally to some and others must work to attain.
People that are attractive to others (not physically) possess a unique lifestyle characteristic.
You have to be about something
For example, kids that play guitar in the rec room attract bytches. Athletic people attract other athletic people. Stoners/ partiers, attract alike. Funny dudes make friends with everybody. The more accessible and loud your image is, the more wide spread your social circle will stretch.
The kids that are outcasted are left behind because they have bland clothes, conversations, and posses no attractive skills.
My first hand experience with this was on move in day. I met a bunch of new people in my dorm. I introduced myself as a regular ass dude. I kind of just blended in with the group, no center of attention. Everyone I associated with had a hobby or attractive trait that managed to let them stand out. You can't be boring and bland and expect to have friends flock to you instead of you trying to gain friends.
If you are looking for attention, friends, or connections, you must provide an image of self worth. Life is basically an interview.
