You’re also missing r&b songs to balance out the hip hop. The club closing to lovers & friends :banderas:

Hell, even bouncing around to something like Loyal by Chris Brown…we used to have r&b that fit the club. These depressed low fi songs from folks like SZA and boring ballads from HER and Ella Mai ain’t club r&b

Can’t dance to a song about a nikka blowing his opps head off
This is what I meant when I said in general, music isn’t fun right now.

No balance. Got rid of all the dudes that were seriously doing it for the love of music and the art… the fun nikkas. Now you got skinny thugs pilled out or thot-rap all over the airwaves.

Ironically I’ve been listening to a lot of Heavy D and Kid N Play
We need that type of fun/dance/fly music now more than ever
I been on old Ice Cube and Bone Thugs lately

Not really a club dude. Drake imo was probably the last dude I know focusing on fun/club songs and feel good type hiphop. They just stuck the fork in this nikka…

But I try to keep up with new music and young dudes who I like.

Like the BigxDaHomie dude. I actually liked his album. It seemed more playful/upbeat than most shyt out and the beats were cold, sampling old fun shyt or TV show themes.

Yep. The death of Rnb in the mainstream directly lines up with the fall off of the clubs. It was a big contributor to the state of nightlife. I remember dancing to songs like too close by Next or jagged edge's where the party at.

Ironically the new trend is rnb nights which are becoming more popular along with afro beat nights cause you can actually dance to the music.

I’m in my 40’s and the club life was changing way back in the early 2000’s.

damn near everything they mentioned was what me & my crew was doing: pulling up late as hell at the club, posted at a section just standing around & not dancing.
