what are you talking about. Lin and Asik were going NO MATTER WHAT. Lin is subpar in every sense of the word, and Asik just didn't fit in our rotation. Parsons was the one true loss, but clearly he WAS NOT worth 15 million/year and EVERYONE knows this.

Ariza for 8 mil/year is a MUCH better deal than paying Parson's 15 mil a year. You get equal scoring capabilities from both, but much improved defense with Ariza, something the Rockets sorely needed. I'm certain that with Ariza in our lineup we will be significantly better than we were last year.

Futhermore, since scoring has NEVER been the Rockets problem, we will definitely improve over last years squad, especially DEFENSIVELY.

Conversations like these proves that many of you don't watch shyt. nikkas just watch ESPN and look at stats.
Wtf ariza is not near as good as parsons offensively :snoop: lies and why did he sign bum ass Lin?? You had dragon and Lowry . Plus you had ariza before and he's older :snoop: Dallas won a ring recently so ill take their opinion on parsons over bum ass morey. Nicca still employing that trash coach and we praising him ????

Of course the ATL
I hear a lot of people talk about Whitlock & black Grantland, but fukk that. When you have true talent like @Walt already here, why not build up our own stable of writers here to document sports & hip hop? I know @cook & @Brooklynzson gotta have something in the works

Two words:

Disney money.

More than money, the issue is platform (which is directly related to the money, so yeah, that too).

This story about Morey went semi-viral, reached a couple second-tier sports personas, and got me on Houston sports radio. Which is pretty fukking remarkable, given how grass roots The Cauldron's promotion is right now. But still, it has netted only like 17,000 views in 4 days, and of those 17,000 views only 37% read the entire thing. Your message, thoughtfulness, and insight means very little without a platform. Rick Reilly can write one of his standard, lazy, knock-knock joke columns tomorrow and get 17,000 views in an eye-blink.

Which is why the writer from grantland was kind of wack for responding to my critique without citing the actual story I wrote. If he referenced it, the hits/attention it got would've quadrupled. I suspect he knew as much and was on some Rick James fukk yo' couch shyt - you ain't gonna shyt on my column and get shine off me, breh breh.

Yeah the article was definitely punching above the publications weight circulation wise but I can only see that as a good thing. It indicates that given the right set of circumstances something will blow up. The writers blowing smoke up Morey's ass won't be ready to call time on his rose tinted narrative for a while. He understands their value in crafting an image and makes himself readily available to them, which is pretty rare for a GM. I suspect that they'll give him at least 2 more years of first round exits before turning their backs.

A guy like Reilly has something very few other writers can boast of, which is tenure. He's been around doing the same thing for so long that he's essentially popular by default. He's old guard, a lot of his readers would be those that had SI subs before the internet age. Of course without the platform SI provided that wouldn't begin to be possible but I have to respect his longevity even if I don't appreciate his work.

And come on, I'm sure you saw that coming. :pachaha: There's no way Sharp wasn't gonna take some of the criticisms in your article personally. He's a serviceable Simmons clone (see: 90% of Grantland staffers), built for shoehorned pop culture references and grandstanding hyperbole, not wars of words and eloquent confrontation.
