Then I'm trying understand your rational. "The government should be taking care of people" Sounds as if it would be advocacy for a number of things like Rent Forgiveness or a Rent and mortgage freeze. So I'm trying to wrap my head around your thought process

No. Rent forgiveness/freeze comes out of the landlords pocket. If the government wanted to help, they’d cover the cost of the rent or pay the landlords expenses if they want to freeze rent payments.

Heaven on Earth
One of my clients is a current Bellator fighter who got laid off in 2018 and was working another job as a security guard trying to make ends meet and had no choice but to seek shelter. he had no drug or addiction issues. I found him housing after 9 months of applications/waiting for affordable housing to possibly find a voucher for him.

Another client, who i knew back in high school and he was cool with me, caught a charge for something everyone knows he didint do, including the victim and the state hit him with gang enhancement charges which forced him back in jail....BECAUSE HE WAS LIVING WITH HIS DAD who also was a former gangbanger. They literally made the case that he was in violation of his parole because of gang association when he was staying with his dad and had nowhere to go.

The poor get demonized for the smallest mistakes, and get pocket watched for a 250$ EBT card while countless wealthy families cheat the government out of millions in taxes with no consequence but a couple fines.

Only in the richest country in the world where we could cure homelessness and poverty for the cost of a couple aircraft carriers, but we choose not too, can we look down on those who caught tough breaks and say "WELL YOU SHOULD HAVE DID THINGS THE RIGHT WAY.

This is my last post in this thread and Gator you a good dude its not personal. I am just deeply saddened by the sheer lack of empathy america has for its homeless population, blaming the problem itself but not the circumstance of cause.

"did things the right way" is usually "if i have a setback, i have help from family and or previous wealth/savings".

This is like "you know unlike cam newton and that mac kid, Zach Wilson has a good head on his shoulders, he plays the game the right way".
I respect your compassion and empathize with these situations. Because I’ve actually been through most of them myself. I witnessed my pops go through these struggles myself.

I can go into detail but that’s not really necessary.

Because in reality . Nobody really gives a fukk. All you really have in this world is family and even in a lot of cases they won’t be there when you really need them.

Any help through philanthropy or the government is going to be temporary. And while you’re getting that help, your only priority should be making moves to make sure you’re never in this situation again.

Im specifically talking to Black men here (not women or children)

Nobody is going to save us.

When I say do things the right way. I’m just talking about being willing to sacrifice immediate short term pleasure and to make smarter decisions.

mid you we’re on unemployment since let’s say April you got about 20k from the state in the south. That’s not vacation money so if you have rent and a car that’s mostly gone right there.

y’all acting like dudes were getting 50k to chill you basically got 13 dollars a hour to stay home.
It wasn’t “mostly gone from rent” because they didn’t pay rent with it. Hence this thread. If folks used that money for rent, they ain’t worrying about getting the heave ho

Rent forgiveness/Freeze is paid for by the government. Either to the banks covering the landlord or to the landlord covering the tenant. Like I'm not sure where you got the idea that the government is just sticking the landlord with a bill. That doesn't even make sense.

You forgive rent then the government just shells out the cash to make the landlords liquid due to their loss of rent over x amount of time. What you're suggesting doesn't even make sense to me. I can't figure out how you came to that conclusion that landlords would just get stuck with a bill.

It's also a vastly more efficient way of handling the issue than trying to pay individual renters nationwide. It's not different than PPP funds that went out to small business's due to loss in income over COVID

I loved this song as a kid, but hated it when I was with this chick and I couldnt find work. She would play this every morning in the bathroom while gettin ready for work. Plus, she always came home 2 hrs late.
The real question.

I work in finance and trust me when I say we don’t gaf so I don’t know what they expecting :russ:
I lived in a condo in 09 where the landlord had financial issues and the bank took over the few units he had in the building. Roommate and I got a letter from the bank telling us to start sending our rent checks there. No direct phone number, no individual to contact, just the mailing address and the main line.

Banks only care about getting their money. Before then, if something needed to be fixed, I could shoot the owner an email and it would be taken care of, bank's going to give you the :hubie:

Even pre-COVID, if you were cool with the landlord or had a sympathetic one, they may let you slide on rent or tell you to just give you half and pay the rest later. These banks aren't doing that shyt.

Got laid off? fukk you pay me.:unimpressed:

Was in the hospital and have major bills? fukk you pay me:unimpressed:

Car broke down and needed to replace the transmission to get to work and used up all your money? fukk you pay me:unimpressed:

Even if the landlord decided to take you to court for an eviction and wanted to do it himself, you'd have a chance that he fukk up with the paperwork or miss the deadline. Banks have attorneys whose sole role is to evict people. They won't mess up.

People think that landlords are the scum of the earth, when the banks are even worse once they take over the property.

They will kick you the fukk out of the property with the quickness and don't care if you nor your family have anywhere else to go.
