You're blaming Americans for being stupid..... We know these people are fukking dumb. Auditing the dumbest piece of shyt country and it's dumb fukk citizens for their reaction to things most them can't begin understand unless it's spoonfed to them is the ultimate waste of time and will leave you in a constant of anger. Lets also not act like large corporations that own large scale apartments don't have lobbyists in DC.

I mean ur not gonna solve debt in this country without the government stepping in and putting a cap on rent(something this capitalist shythole will never do) but lets not act like forgiving the rent isn't the right thing to do. Everyone comes out solid in that situation. Throwing ur hands up and allowing both landlords and their tenants to fall is the wrong move.

I completely agree with you that they should forgive some if not all of the backpay in rent. I also believe that they should get with the credit companies to clear the evictions of some people's credit who moved out of the property out of fear that the moratorium would expire.

Unfortunately, in doing so would take bread out of the riches pockets in the long run as that's less money they can essentially extort from the poor and working people of this country. That's why they will never forgive all of the student loan debt as that's less money in interest and late fees that they pocket.

Solving the problem would make a lot of people solid, but unfortunately this country is rooted in selfish and the me first, fukk everyone else mentality. That's the different between the US and other countries.

Just fully funding the IRS would take money out of the riches pocket TBQH. Like that's the easiest Biden can do and to the shock of many he's calling for a massive increase to their budget. at a certain point ppl gotta look in the mirror
I mean if you could make 800 a week for free and stop doing Uber and Lyft why not? You can always pick that back up at anytime

He could, but the rich and powerful lobbyist who influence those in Congress aren't going to let it happen. Biden's not going to do it because he's just the figurehead to get things done with the lobbyist in the background do the bidding to their benefit. He's also too scared to go against the status quo in how they operate.

It's no different than any of those other people in Congress with lobbyist in their pockets and influencing their every decision.

Go find another spot while other landlords are desperate and willing to negociate.

Moving costs money I don't have.

Lower prices would put me in Philly, I'm working on getting a better job. Once I'm done this program, God willing, I will be going for 60k a year.

Then I can look at moving, so hopefully sometime next year :ehh:

Charlotte had been following the moratoriums as NYC and Los Angeles have been doing until NC threw them shyts out the window late last year. I own a property on the West side that’s been in my family for decades that I have been renting out to a family of five for the past year and a half.

When all this shyt with the pandemic popped off, I called the husband and wife and began negotiations cause I already knew what was coming. For whatever reason, the husband cut me off me getting aggressive talking about he doesn’t have to pay anything cause of Covid..I told him how long you think this shyt gonna last? Would you rather let your rent accumulate at the full amount or do want to make it easier for you and your family once this shyt is over? His fire burned out quick.

I own the property outright and only pay property taxes and insurance so I have flexibility. After talking to them both. I gave them two options:

  1. Pay nothing while under moratorium but he must maintain the property and will owe all rent accumulated over the duration of the moratorium minus late fees and what not.
  2. Pay $400 a month for the duration of the moratorium (rent is normally $1250), maintain the property and once the moratorium is done, we will sign a new 12 month lease for a new monthly payment of $1050, reducing his payment by two hundred dollars as long as they pay the $400 faithfully per month. Nothing else will be owed.
Second option was taken and all parties were satisfied..I flexed a little since there was a few hiccups with on time payments but I did that because of their kids mostly. I think landlords in general got caught flat footed by the actions of the government and thought (wrongfully) that they would be made whole..I made no such error in thinking, I already knew I would be at a disadvantage so I immediately began to work with my tenants.

However, this negative mindset against landlords is ridiculous and uncalled for. At the end of the day, it’s business..some of you add all these emotional ingredients into the mix and it’s becomes reflective of how decayed this society is in exercising rudimentary logic and how sensitive this culture is against those who are relentless in the practice of achieving success and security.

"Success" and "security" doesnt happen in most countries in the world, during the pandemic. America shytted on its citizens, with a style where people dont even want to fukk with this country on any level, anymore. Not even for superficial entertainment or tourism. No other country does this to their citizens and landlords in other countries only charge 10 to 15% of a person's monthly income on housing. Not 40% to 70%, and letting people stay in poverty because they cannot save.

Thats why there is major smoke to the landlords from the populace: cause the population is paying historically high rent prices and lowering disposable income, and no other business that has non-essential products can thrive if everyone spending their entirely monthly income on bills alone.

At some point, no matter how stupid you may think your tenants are for trying to harm landlords all ovrr, they WILL put their life on the line and do their part to make society a better place. Even if its suicide bombing.
