The NBA has the most strange time for their HOF induction

It gets totally overshadowed by everything else going on. I don't even know what day it actually is. Just some post on instagram from Kobe congratulating shaq.
They need to move it up to the summer so it and it's players can get proper attention they deserve.
Lemme do my Google real quick- sees it is tonight.

It's not right at the beginning of the season and it's not right at the end. It's at a weird time where basketball ain't really on people's minds.

yea actually i just remembered it's the basketball HOF and not just the nba HOF.

Yep they should definitely do it during the dog days of summer(July, August), maybe make it a weekend long celebration starting on Thursday with a All Star summer league game(World vs USA) then have performances and a live Open Court.

Does it really clash or does it just further the NBA's stranglehold on that time of year? You basically just fill the small amount of time that isn't focused on free agency with HOF talk. This has got to be the absolute worst time of the year to do anything that is not football related with NFL and NCAA both kicking off. I actually think the season itself should be pushed back into the summer. NBA could own the summer.

That I agree with. The NBA season should start around Christmas and end around when NFL training camp starts(this includes playoffs obviously).

Nah cause it's NBA talk. People are already paying attention to the NBA, easy segues to be talked about.
Nobody is really thinking about the nba in September. It's all football and baseball. Eyes are already on you for FA so go head and hit em with the HOF too. It's simple. Everyone is in one place you can make deals and talks in Boston. You can either be overshadowed by yourself or overshadowed by everyone else.

They'll never do it. They'd have to push every league's season back to even think about it (which FIBA won't do) and the players would absolutely reject the idea for the same reason you want the idea
