nah cuz then you NFL fans will call them pussies and cry about load management again.

the truth is the way they are trained and play as teenagers needs to be rebuilt, but as long as there is money to be made and an edge to be gained from getting more reps that might get you one deal, even if your career ends in your 20s now.... it will be worth it to them

Look at the shoes.....

Hali wearing those dogshyt Pumas
Tatum wearing his dogshyt signature Jordan's
Dame wearing the mid signatures (Not a fan of how the 9s felt on the feet, ended going with the Kai 1s...)
Kyrie with the sus Kai 2s

Are they wearing custom orthotics?

Gilbert and Kmart say players arent training/practicing as hard thats ehy theyre more prone to injuries. What do you think

So they are getting overuse injuries in their 20s from not training hard enough? None of those dudes had any injuries?

Its actually the opposite. They doin too much, too early. Playing year round. Playing 6 games in a day. Going from tournament to tournament around the country. Specializing way too early. Dudes used to hoop during the season then play baseball, football, track etc. Now they basically pro hoopers at 12.

Calfs and achilles injuries and any muscle strain such as hamstring are from over working and over exertion. Players nowadays are playing way more games from their early childhood with AAU. They get to the league and their practice/summer workouts are super intense. Teams need to switch strategies when it comes to practices especially so that guys can play hard when it matters and have the appropriate rest. There's no need to be running suicides or doing physical full drill workouts anymore. Watch and study film, practice your shooting and touch so you stay sharp. No full game scrimmage.

I don't think they're playing more though. What players have not played all-year round? Even before AAU became what it is, major cities had winter leagues, summer leagues - multiple games at that in the summer, plus pick-up everyday...more intense at that, plus playing for their school teams, plus individual workouts. The only thing AAU did was compress a lot of that into 1, but the quantity has virtually remained the same.

I think the overexertion is due to going 25% during the regular season, THEN trying to rev it up for playoffs. Plus, less emphasis on workouts and practices during the season, plus the style these guys are playing. You want to constantly do hard, herky-jerky cuts like Barry Sanders, then wonder why you're having injuries. Everyone knows that at those sizes, your aren't supposed to be moving like that. They probably need to tape their ankles if that's how they are going to play...in low tops

TYRONE GA!
At some point its up to teams to protect a player from themselves. Said the same thing about KD in 19.
ain't no guarantee you make it back to the Finals though.

And I'm sure Haliburton wasn't the only person ever to have some calf issues but played in the playoffs.

I will say that in the regular season, it will definitely be taken with a lot more caution....even the early playoffs if possible.

But you can't fault him for wanting to go Game 7, many players don't get a second chance to play in the Finals.

shyt just sucks.

What's the chance they return to the finals next year, even with a health Hali? It sucks, but you're at the VERY last game of the season, Hali had to play, and I don't even like the dude for that choking shyt.

Beyond not working kids so hard and letting them specialize in playing other youth sports....there may need to be some research put into what other potential material could be used for NBA courts, to see if that alleviates potential injuries.

Curious as to why?? I’m asking this as a fan/ex athlete that loves low tops and the ability to move a bit more free and quick, from my experience. Also, I tell my son to play on low tops.
Torque and straight up force when planting and moving. Quick start/stops and cutting that players weren't doing as much.

But these Achilles injuries sometimes are just freak accidents.

I'm not knocking him. Of course he wanted to play. That's what players do. That's also the reason you have coaches and trainers and an entire org making decisions that players may not have the foresight or perspective or shyt, regard for their own health, to make. Players have missed Finals games before. I feel confident in saying it wasn't their choice.
